Some info about Carter from an RU grad guy I know, he writes for some random SBNation blog. Trying to ask some Gator fans or some SEC hoops guys I know if they remember what he was like at UF:

[Carter's] "...not interested in defense. Loves to drive and shoot off-balanced from the top of the key. Can go invisible if bored. He's a high volume shooter who needs the whole offense to operate around him. Also, he's not a "bad guy," but he doesn't have the greatest character. It's either all about Eli or nothing. He'll score double digits and have a few 30+ point games and win a few games single handedly, but he's not carrying a team anywhere."

i think we've seen that this sort of player can work at bc

Aaron Brown had a ton of 15+ shot night where he was below 30% shooting. Unfortunately, Christian's only options to create their own shots were Brown, Hanlon, and (gulp) Heckmann.

At this point, the only scoring we return is Clifford clumsily throwing a hook shot at the rim and Garland Owens wildly attempting put-back dunks. I think a volume shooter might be just what is needed while this large freshmen class feels its oats this season.

Maybe with Carter shooting a bit, we'll get to see Diallo do some Beerbohm-like opposing crowd-silencing offensive rebound/monster dunks.

Great work on Carter, they've really checked all the boxes here in 2015

who cares if he takes 25 shots or 2 shots, the more important skill that Carter brings is ball handling. This team would have lost every game by 40 without a guy like Carter who can break his man down one on one, bring defensive help over, and create shots for others.

AWESOME pickup with Carter. I am very impressed with what JC has put together for 2015. Still young, but I think this team is going to be a lot better than people are predicting.

This will be fun to watch, and we now have a complete team.

This team will be a lot more competitive with a 24-year old veteran PG that can score. Between him and the most recent signing, they have certainly checked the boxes of what they needed. I just think we need to make sure we remember that they are essentially backing Carter up with 7 freshmen, a RS sophomore that had never played in two years due to injury, a Junior that probably has played too much, and a RS senior big man that has played too little and too much at the same time. I'm tempering expectations.

That said, it's a hell of a lot better than it could have been. I'd like to see one more person in here, not picky about position. Otherwise, this was about the best job you could have hoped for, all things considered.

Wigginton's brother had signed with JC when he was at Ohio. When he came to BC, Rodell Wigginton then was released and went to Buffalo under Hurley.

Does any program outside of Kentucky have more player turnover than Providence? Harris is talented but very inconsistent, you could say his head isn't always in the game. He is related to Tobias Harris (NBA player) but they don't really have the same body type.

Chukwu leaving Providence. I post this not in anticipation that he comes to BC, but rather to marvel at Easy Ed's ability to have players walk away from starting roles year after year (when they're not finding novel ways to get kicked out of school).

I should not get my hopes up about Chukwu, right? I mean, even though he's a Fairfield Prep grad and would not have to travel much further from home, he's not coming to BC, right?

I think we've graduated from the America East All-stars. But the rest of it pretty much.

No insider info but the Gabriel recruitment is getting really crowded which is never good for BC

There's no diversification of talent. It's just a bunch of 6'10 athletes who can't play basketball. He also stinks at coaching.
