And while the refereeing was positively criminal, they get away with it because (a) we can't fucking finish to save our lives and (b) our nerdastic fans are the least scary fans in the world. What do you think would happen to refs who swallowed the whistle like that in a place where people actually give a shit. They'd be sprinting off the court under a cascade of drink cups and they'd be getting escorted to their cars by State Troopers--and rather than endure that they'd just call the foul.
