He got a good drive to the basket and probably could have gotten a foul call. I'm ok with that.

Donahue has been quoted that Rahon is his "go to" guy at the end of games, so that play was unfortunately predictable. Rahon is a good player and makes good decisions, BUT Hanlan is a better finisher. The fact that Rahon was having his WORST game as an Eagle didn't change Donahue's thinking. I found that frustrating.

Yeah...I thought he got hacked and hit with the body on the layup...

Tough game, they looked a little tired in the second half...pretty physical and some inconsistent calls

That was unfortunate. Wake is a very bad team. We played very sloppy. Rahon couldn't make anything. The one good thing is it looks like Lonnie Jackson is back.

Watch the replay. The first defender tried to poke it loose from behind and wrapped him. Rahon stumbled a little, and remember we were in the double bonus. It was pretty blatant but the refs swallowed their whistles all game and certainly did on that possession. Still think the ball HAS to be in Hanlons hands

Wake wasn't VERY BAD....but they were beatable, definitely.

Rahon got hacked, it was quite clear. Same w/Anderson late in the game.

Yeah, I like Rahon as a player- a lot, but I don't think he's the best finisher on the team (both Anderson and Hanlan are better-although Anderson needs someone to get him the ball), and he's not going to get that call. Refs are not going to call body contact, esp. at the end of a game for the road team. The reverse layups and other finishes Rahon got against UNH and the like are fools-gold in ACC play. Of course the ball is in Rahon's hands because he makes good decisions, better than Hanlan ( who turned the ball over on the previous possession- by over passing).
Still, glad the team competed....I thought WF had the best two players on the floor, and BC almost overcame that. Looking forward to WF coming to Conte on 2/13.

the refs may have missed the Anderson and Rahon calls, but let's be honest, we got plenty of calls.

I would have prefered the ball in hanlans hands because he has a better chance of muscling through the contact and is still clutch and a good free throw shooter, but I completely disagree about the fools gold comment. Also Anderson getting the. Play does not appeal to me at all.

Not crazy about the Rahon play.. and to those who are saying he is the best decision maker (which I do think he is), why not set up the play so he has the ball in the center of the court so he has a better chance to create? Then the full-court pass from Clifford was another terrible call. 4.2 seconds is plenty of time to push the ball up the court and get off a three. Donahue was lucky we even got another chance. And in that instance, I would have made it a point to draw the play for Jackson specifically, whereas you could tell that there was an option for either him or Hanlan.. Overall not crazy about any of those three decisions from Donahue.

We didn't play too well, but we fought back in the end and there's no way we would have had the chance to win last year given the in-game situation at the time.

Rahon had a bad game overall, but he played well on the final few offensive possessions.

First he had the drive for the near-basket-and-foul when BC was down 3, I don't know how it stayed out. Then he hit the two free throws.

Then with under a minute left, he had a great drive to the hoop which he then passed out. I thought he should have taken the shot, but his pass was fine.

Then on the final real possession, down one, he drove to the hoop and put up a decent shot even though he got hit, it just stayed out. Nobody almost ever gets a call in that situation on the road.

Overall I'm happy about the performance. No, I don't think they're a good team yet, or even going to be this year. But they're a tough group and they're improving. There were a ton of chances to get blown out, and they stayed with it and almost took it at the end. I like that they already have 3 young leaders, and that the role players are stepping up at times (how about Odio having a decent game).

By the way, I realized what bothers me most about Heckman. For someone who is supposedly a "shooter", his shot is tremendously inconsistent. I don't mean that he misses a lot, more that the form and shot arc looks different almost every time he shoots. Look at his Free Throws --- sometimes they line drive, sometimes they're high, etc. Good outside shooters (like Lonnie Jackson, or especially Wood on NC State) typically have the same form on every shot, especially on free throws.

BC did get some calls. But I thought watching the game Wake got more than BC.
