I'll say it, if Jackson is not knocking down shots, he shouldn't be out there. What else does he give this team?

Except, he may have to be out there, because I don't know who else plays.

He was a .399 3 pt shooter on 157 tries last year. He will start hitting them at some point.

Couldnt agree more about Donahue coaching defense, they look clueless defensively and they dont commit to play it...not a very good combination.

Better than the first game. If a dump smells less bad than a prior dump, it is still a dump.

Glad you went and looked that up, though, small pleasures.

I honestly think the pieces are there for this team to come together this year and run a really nice inside-outside game on offense. The team is shooting > 40% from downtown today and that's with the early struggles.

And it won't matter because this team couldn't stop a good high school squad from scoring. 2 games may be an anomaly, but more than 2 seasons of terrible defense is a trend.

At this point...i certainly don't expect a win tomorrow. 0-3 in this tournament would not be a good way to start the season.

The offense was bad and still hit 71 which is a good sign.

If there's a worse defensive team in America I'd like to see it. Watching it up close, Donahue's assistants don't help him at all in-game. Maybe it's designed that way.

There's a serious problem with foot speed and fundamentals on D. You can fix one.

Colorado beating Baylor kinda takes the sheen off of yesterday's moral victory.

Donahue is channelling his inner Spazoo: Boston College coach Steve Donahue was disappointed things got away from his club in the first half. But he understood he's still in the early stages of a rebuilding project. "We're in a growth mode," he said. "We're not there yet."

Next game is SUNDAY, 12 noon, vs. loser of COC/Auburn. ESPN3

I was out all day today, so I missed the game.......but from what I have read and can guess, this was an example of the growing pains you will have with a team so young. Lack of effort on the defensive end sounds like a product of tired legs and still emotionally being down from playing toe to toe with a top 25 team for 36? of the 40 minutes yesterday. It happens to young/immature teams. As a BC fan, sure, i'm unhappy that they lost 2 in a row in Charleston......but team is still a work in progress. Finding out who they are as individuals and as a team. Who is going to be the defensive stopper? Who is going to be the go-to guy on offense (Anderson has clearly taken the reigns on this one). If come conference schedule time they are still giving up 80 PPG, then we have a problem. One clear improvement is on the offensive end. Last year, they had to will themselves to 50 points. This year, they are executing on the offensive end. Minus a few shooting slumps (particularly Lonnie Jackson), the offense has been great. Sounded like today was too many offensive rebounds to Dayton. That's something that should be able to be fixed with coaching. This team was not going to go from 50 PPG to NCAA bid in one year. It's baby steps. .500 will get them to the NIT. That's the realistic goal for this team.

It's on Sunday, and at noon on ESPN3. Also, they play the loser of Auburn/Charleston. Charleston up 23-22 at half.

And not channeling his inner Spazoo:
“Dayton reacted to their loss (Thursday) and unfortunately taught us a really hard lesson,” BC coach Steve Donahue said. “Hopefully, it's a lesson we learn from.
