Okay I just now recovered from that minor heart attack I got from our cardiac kids winning in the manner that they did. For the first 16 minutes of that game, they were the worst division-1 college basketball team in the nation. Over the very next 6 minutes (spanning the half-time) Northeastern was better than Georgetown and Duke, combined. Bi-Fucking-Polar!

I don't think they can do that. Part of why everyone buys in to the NCAA tourney is that every conferance gets at least one seat at the table. Now obviously, the CAA is only sending one team where the ACC will be sending five, but the NCAA right now has no control over who the CAA sends to the tourney for their guaranteed bid. Such as it is for schools like Liberty.

Really the only way to prevent this is to take away automatic bids from half of the 31 division-1 conferances, Do that, and they will just break off and form their own playoffs separate from March Madness.

I think UVA will get in win or lose Friday. Their SOS is weak, but they only had one truly terrible loss and they beat the RPI's #1 to offset that.

As we've seen over and over, the NCAA can do whatever it wants. The easiest way for this to be done is to set some sort of requirement where if team wins their conference tournament and has a sub-.500 record, then the bid goes to the regular season champ. You know why this won't be done? No one cares about exchanging one shit team for another shit team. No one. If shit team tourney loser wants to be in the NCAAs, they should have beaten the other shit team.

Yes, they'll break off if life isn't fair, just like all the have-nots who left the BCS system and formed their own playground!

i suppose i should be angry about what happened tonight but i'm not. its clear that our players are simply not athletic enough to make any noise in the tourney so, whatever. the team played like crap, they deserved to lose, and now they will have to suffer playing in the Not-In-Tournament as a penalty for fucking off at the beginning of the game (just like last night)

Coen did a great job. he has an impossible task recruiting at a school like Northeastern, an impossible task. my alma mater simply does not have anything to offer the best blue chip players who could pick whatever school they wanted to attend. so this is probably about the best we could ever do
