Fun game tonight. Great to get the monkey off our back this early and not have to worry about 0-16.
) who's the man?
and our freshman are getting so much more valuable experience with all the minutes they are logging. I am telling you they can win in the ACC most teams have 2/3 maybe a 4th go to scorers BC can go 6/7 maybe 8 guys that can score and play defense. Most teams are relying on athletic freshman to contribute, BC has talented/smart freshman that are contributing. You won't see anymore -30pt spreads that's for sure You may see BC favored over Wake on the 21st.

Well done, boys.

I've seen the team on TV about 5 or 6 times now, and I think Clifford, Lonnie Jackson, and Ryan Anderson will all turn out to be pretty good players in time. Daniels is pretty good at PG now, and I think Caudill will be a good role player eventually as well.
The biggest missing piece on the team is a lead scoring guard who can create his own shot. If they somehow recruit someone like Troy Bell, Ty Rice, or Reggie Jackson, they will be definitely be a good team down the line. Heck, if Jackson had stayed they'd probably be competitive with all but the top teams now.
That said, I am yet to understand the excitement about Heckman. In the games I've seen he has not looked particularly good. Do people think he's really going to end up being a lead player ? If so, who might he compare to (previous BC, ACC, Big East, whatever) ?

Heckmann seemed the most ready of the freshman against UNH in game one(by default as the rest of the team was extremely tentative) and had that 32 pt game against UC Riverside. He's had a few good offensive performances since then and some really abysmal ones. Some posters have speculated his ankle injury has kept him from performing as well as he did really early. I don't know. He can score a lot sometimes but he has a ton of turnovers. I see his realistic upside(assuming no injury) from what I've seen this season as a sixth man for a BC tournament team, where he could be instant offense off the bench, kind of what Jermaine Watson provided even though there game's are obviously dissimilar.
I like this team. I'm sure there will be regression at some point because they're still all freshmen, but I expect more good(relatively) games this season and a few more ACC wins. Clifford and Jackson have showed glimpses last night of maybe being able to carry the scoring load going forward and maybe one or more of them being that go-to player we've been talking about. I think Anderson probably has the most upside of anyone on this team, if he puts on some good weight in the off season he could be a beast going forward.
I appreciate Humphrey's fg %'s regression to the mean. He seems like he's figuring his role out, or maybe his role is changing(like Cahill, although I expect Humphrey to still play 15-20 minutes a night next year) as the freshman improve and gain confidence. Either way, he's looking better.
I am almost ready to puke from hearing that already. These guys are players that happen to be freshman set that aside and It all comes down to matchups... as to who will step up nightly; key on stopping Anderson deal with Clifford, sag on our bigs our guards drop hot rocks from downtown. Press the guards... pick and roll Heckman score 32 because nobody else stepped up in that game. He brings experience to a young team with his Euro playing experience, Now that his teammates are stepping up he may be pressing trying to find another 30+ game all of these guys are trying to learn to play as one unit... that's why the games here early on will all be fugly.

BC is at .500 in ACC now...smile on the real though, there is a good chance we are still at .500 ACC by the time we face Duke,
