Starting 5

Postby Puerto Rico Eagle on Mon Oct 12, 2009 9:52 am

I assume it will be PG Biko SG Rakim SF Raji PF Trapani C Southern with the main players off the bench being Jackson Ravanel Dunn and Roche...Maybe even Elmore steals some minutes from Roche? Or do we think all tries to go smaller but a bit more athletic by playing Jackson at SG and Rakim at SF?

Can't wait for the season...This team has the potential to be really good :chewbanka :chewbanka

I like that set-up. Jackson will be the spark-plug off the bench that will get starters minutes.

Hopefully, Ravanel will play some good minutes this year to back up the 4-5 spots. I think he'll be an X-Factor.

this will be a very interesting position. reggie was good enough to earn a slot but he might not be able to start. he might get starters minutes though

I like Paris, Jackson, Sanders, Trap & Southern as starters. However, I don't think Raji loses his spot as starting SF.

Has anyone considered the possibility that Paris wouldn't be the starting PG? It's very unlikely (I Paris will be excellent without Rice around), but I wouldn't completely rule out a Jackson-Sanders backcourt if Reggie stepped up his game in the offseason.

I actually think that the Jackson-Sanders combo will happen at times during the game due to the fact that we dont have a true backup PG...But I think Biko will be very good this year...I believe he can run the flex better than Rice and is a much better scorer than people give him credit for he's just not a flashy shoot first guard like Rice was..

Another consideration is Brady Heslip. I don't know if there was any legitimacy to the rumblings that he's enrolling for the second semester, but he might be able to provide some relief at the point if he comes in ready.

I did a little research and it looks like Heslip is at New Hampton for the year.

I'd like to see Jackson instead of Raji but it can't happen because there's no one else to come in for Biko.

You don't think Raji could sub in for Jackson at around 14 minutes and then Jackson subs in for Paris at 10 or 11?

I guess so, no matter what happens Biko/Reggie will be fatigued by the end of the year just like Rice.
