You don't believe Pearl mans the grill himself, do you?

He can't even face the same direction as the crowd when he's pointing. He'd probably light himself on fire.

Hoops writer on TOS says he is not a banger (e.g., Marfo-type) and is a stretch 4.

Coach Christian sees him as a 5 with skills who could play some 4. He was recruited as a 5.

EAHoffses: Adam Ross, coach of Nik Popovic and he tells me there is "no doubt" that he would be a Top 100 player if he got to the states last year

Sagay and Popovix remind me of Jerome Robinson in the sense that when they show up (or even this year) people will wonder why they didn't have higher profile offers.

This team still needs a banger inside the bigs JC is recruiting are bean poles

Watched the second quarter of Serbia's game against the USA.

This game is from July or August 2014 so hopefully he has progressed A LOT since then.

Popovic:

Definitely not a banger and he didn't shoot any jump shots either.

Didn't appear to be that tall compared to the rest of the players.

Had a couple nice layups but nothing flashy, didn't attempt to dunk on a few, instead chose a finger roll.

He seems to be very interested in defense but still a bit slow hedging and switching men.

Definitely not a rim protector based in that video.

Runs the floor EXTREMELY well (we've heard this before: cough clifford cough.

Unless he's progressed a lot in the last year I don't see how he could have been a top 100 player in the US. He will have a tough time adjusting to playing against bigger, stronger, and faster competition.

Now someone find some more recent highlights!

The title of that video says he's 6'7''. That's a little different than the 6'10'' on the recruiting sites...

After watching the St. Francis game and catching a glimpse of the different skill sets of the frosh, I think this team desperately needs a PF who is physically strong and does the dirty work (rebound and tough D). Too bad the staff wasted their efforts chasing someone who fit that bill, but they never would get because of Leo Papile.

The Popov kid is a good player, but you're right that they still need a banger down low. I can almost guarantee he'll use 5th years again next year (LDE can confirm here) so he may go that direction.

I think getting a competent 5th year PF might be tougher than getting a high volume scoring guard, but if he can get one great.

Assuming there is no attrition, which I concede is a big assumption, are there schollies left for a 5th year? They have 3 incoming and 2 outgoing - do they have more than one schollie banked?

Check my math, but I think they have one banked.

13 Scholarships

1. Jerome Robinson Fr.
2. Darryl Hicks So.
3. Eli Carter Gr.
4. Idy Diallo R-Fr.
5. Garland Owens Jr.
6. Ervins Meznieks Fr.
7. A.J. Turner Fr.
8. Johncarlos Reyes Fr.
9. Matt Milon Fr.
10. Dennis Clifford Sr.
11. Sammy Barnes-Thompkins Fr.

Leaving due to end of elligibility: Carter, Clifford (down to 9)
Incoming: Graves, Sagay, Popovic (up to 12)

You said assume no attrition, which of course make sense, but with 2 euros and a carryover from the old regime with ongoing injury issues who has been widely panned as not ready or able to play at this level in Hicks, I think it's likely we have 2 or more schollies next year.

Agreed 100%.

Hicks, through no fault of his own, is completely cooked. There are numerous members of EO who could guard him on the offensive end. He just has no explosiveness at all.

I think they're at 12 scholarships next year assuming no attrition

Heard on the radio yesterday that the Goodluck kid is transfering out of UNLV.
Any shot we convince him to come back to Boston?

he is related to former UCONN Alex Ohakari, who if I recall correctly left on unfavorable terms with the father blasting Calhoun, which if true, then I want this kid offered two scholarships. He was a borderline top 50 guy if I recall correctly.

UNLV, UMass, URI and BC.

One of these schools has academic standards. 3 do not.

My assumption was mentioning BC was just lazy filler for his piece because it's a local major team. If he wants to be closer to home I don't get the ASU/Hurley rumors.
