eaglesfan06 {l Wrote}:I can't imagine any more incompetency. Imagine controlling the majority of the game with an aggressive offense and a zone defense and then just flat out abandoning that on both ends of the floor once you go up 9 points halfway through the 2nd half.

BC sports is pure fucking torture.

Announcers were openly questioning the sudden change... predicting it would result in a run... and then wondered when they would switch it back.

Was pleasantly surprised with Felder, Heath, MAL... was happy with what I expected from Tabbs, Mitchell... to see more from Langston Jr... disappointed by Scott and Kelly. That said no one seemed completely outclassed by the supposed #3 team in the Nation.

Hunta518 {l Wrote}: I can’t believe this is Christian’s 7th year. I haven’t cared about BC basketball In so long.

Holy shit... THIS!
Did you know that Jim Christian and Steve Donahue are the only two coaches in BC history who have a losing record while being at the school for more than 2 seasons. Only other sub-.500 head coaches was one season of Frank Powers (1962) and two seasons of James Crowley (1905). Don and JC have delivered sustained losses unlike anything in the history of the school. It is unfathomable how GDF, Bates and Marty coordinated in the burying of the program.

I don’t think you can be anything but encouraged from last night. I don’t understand why JC switched out of that zone. Important one tonight to at least get a split

Holy fucking shit guys. The Kamari, Mitchell, Langford Jr, Felder and Tabbs lineup wouldn’t be able to score in an old west brothel and I can’t believe nobody wearing a BC polo is cognizant of this

The athleticism on this team is much improved in comparison to past Jimmy Christian teams. The problem is that Jimmy Christian is still the coach and he sucks. It makes this team incredibly frustrating to watch because you know that they will inexplicably go to sleep for stretches, will make the same mental errors over and over and generally play like a shitty team.

This one is just about over. You can tell, they are looking for a nice, soft place on the canvas to lie down and go to sleep for the night.

Losing to a bad URI team in Year 7 is completely unacceptable even without Heath

Jc is brutal. Unbelievable he still has a job. Has there been a worse P5 program since he’s been here? I honestly can’t think of one.

Speaking of Villanova, I hate that this is the second consecutive game where we got out to an impressive lead vs them only to take our foot off the gas and lose

Did not see that one coming. I guess I underestimated how bad David Cox is at coaching basketball. URI’s last ten minutes tonight were as inexplicable as our last ten minutes last night.

5 mins , 0 rebounds, 1 pt. and 5 fouls per game type of breakout?

Boston College’s Jay Heath is expected to play in the Eagles’ next game Monday against St. John’s, I’m told. MRI on his injured foot came back negative.

Huge news. I was a little nervous it would be a stress fracture or plantar fasciitis etc. Between Heath, MAL, Tabbs and Kelly we got tons of guard depth that we can rotate in and out depending who is hot or by matchup.

Does anyone know if the seniors are eligible next season also based on that winter athlete eligibility rule? Basically could Steff get another season of eligibility?

mizzou this week cancelled, we're now playing florida on the 3rd, seems like URI round 2 is cancelled

St. John's is another good test for BC. Certainly a game you need to win to play in March.

I haven't posted in the weirdo forum in a while, and by my read of these posts, its still the weirdos, but I will say this to all of you who are not fake aliassses (except funisher, whom I actually believe loves JC):

JC aside, this team has a lot of talent, but more importantly, I actually see chemistry, something that I had not seen on the BC hardcourt for a long time.

As for the players, Tabbs is definitely rusty but he will really be all ACC if he stays healthy this year. Heath continues to impress at the 2, and even tho I think he has a better handle than Tabbs, he is better at the 2 than the 1. DL, Jr. is off-the-charts talented, but he has a low BBIQ it seems. If he could ever put it together, I think he could be one of the best to ever wear a BC uniform. Not to go all GOSB, but he's got a big body and is fluidly graceful, don't see that often. Felder is what he is at this point, which is a good 3/4, but I don't see him developing much more of an inside game; so as long as he continues to work on his 3 point shot to be an inside-outside threat, he should get plenty of one-on-one work against the smaller guys on the low block, and that will be good for 6-8 per game all by itself. First impression on MAL is positive - he looks like an effective slasher and rhythm guy and good on D, so a good 1 or 2 guy to spell Tabbs or Heath, but how much floor time can he get with Tabbs and Heath running most of the time? Running 3 guards will eventually take its toll on rebounding. Is there another quality 3/4 on this team besides Felder with a big enough body to get ORBs when the guards slash and drive? Maybe Mitchell is that guy, he has the best BB IQ on this team for getting into good position on O and D, but once he has the ball, he isn't much of a threat to score. I don't think Scott is that guy, either, at least in that 3 guard set, because he'd be better to drift outside to get kicks for open 3s to clear out any big bodies. Williams seems to fit the bill, but hes too skinny to be a real rebounding presence. And, I know everyone is loving Luka's 5 minutes, but lets not get carried away.

To me, key parts this year are Tabbs and Felder. If they stay healthy, we've got a solid chance, because the rest are pretty interchangeable If one of them goes down for any length of time, JC wont be able to coach his way out of it and it'll be another losing season.

This team shoots too many mid range jumpers and they don't run enough. They're also not great on defense. But the talent is better and Langford is good.
