Because Eddie Jordan has had more years.

I think Illinois football serves as a more fundamental reason for why we shouldn't entertain replacing either Christian or the Daz just yet.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Assuming you aren't capable of inferring my point from my response to Epstein a page earlier and googleing the Illinois football coaching situation, which should be about as difficult as coming to the conclusion of 2 from the equation of 1+1, I will clarify my preceding statement for you.

The Illini fired their head coach last season and appointed an interim coach to finish out the season. Their interim AD then hired said coach to an extension after the season ended. They fired the interim AD and their new AD fired their head coach today which delayed spring practices. In other words, a shortsighted move made during a time of uncertainty in their Athletic Department wound up needlessly costing the school $$ and delaying the return of continuity to their program. In short, they should have waited until they found a more permanent AD before hiring/firing a coach. I think that we should wait until we find a new AD before hiring/firing any coaches to avoid Illinois' mistake and numerous other potential mistakes.

I will add that it looks like Illinois came out of this thing smelling like a rose (they apparently hired Lovie Smith).

Coming from a lifelong Bears fan and someone who has a degree from Illinois, I'd be happy with the hire. He did a pretty good job with the Bears and if he ever had a real quarterback, he'd have won that SuperBowl, The Glazers and Bucs and therefore you are losers.

Again enjoy run, run, pass, punt. That and giving up like 350 yards of passing every game. Again the black Frank Spazani.

I'll probably catch flak for posting this, but Schmidt was named A10 Coach of the Year today (and again, not really advocating for a change now, but rather pointing out things likely would've been more Skinner-esque than what we've gotten had we made a different choice).

In any event, whether he was the right guy for here or not, I can say with complete confidence that Schmidt has been great for this Bona program and the fan base loves the guy (and their team). Looking forward to hitting McMahon's Friday night before their 9 PM tilt with a sure to be rabid fanbase.

it's justin and all related to the lack of a search function. if someone posts something and then thinks better of it by deleting their stupid ramblings, the new post flag stays lit even though there isn't a new post.

it's just another function of justin's apathy

If bball is similar next year the first firing should be Brad Bates. Only then should a decision be made on Christian.

Do people seriously think next year is going to be some huge improvement?

Stanford let Johnny Dawkins go. Would be a potential interesting fit at BC down the road. Knowledge of ACC as player and assistant coach, familiar with recruiting nationally for a high-academic-standards school, experience coaching at a school with a level of student/fan apathy. Had a super-tough team a few years ago which upset Kansas to make the Sweet 16, but only had decent teams most other years...

Just read James Madison is using Fogler Consulting. That seems like a great landing spot for JC.

Isn't it telling that after we used big Ed his next 2 clients were UIC and JMU? Way to go Brad.

I was ripping off your ripoff of my original ripoff of a ripoff. Thus, minimal effort was a prerequisite for my latest ripoff as the point was to provoke the requisite ire and protest from the masses. I fear the general maxim that you live by is actually correct in this instance, less is more

It can't be a ripoff of your original ripoff of a ripoff if this is the 2nd post of yours I've ever read. Also I have a larger and straighter penis than you.

the fact that we paid him more than $1 million makes me want brad bates fired more than anything else that brad bates has ever done or not done during his tenure.

no wonder the ad is "losing money." what do you expect when you overpay for "losing coaches."

fuck this place and all who are involved with it. fuck them right in the eye socket

and yes, longdistancemac... you can tell him i said it when you see him in the bedroom later

When we first hired Christian I, like you, thought it was quite simply an indication of our hack from the MAC AD's incompetence. To be fair the Master's incompetence is a large part of the story, but it is not the whole story. Watching Georgia Tech recently get turned down repeatedly in their attempt to replace Gregory suggests to me that interest is very, very weak in the coaching market for lower-level ACC jobs - no one wants to come to ACC and lose to the big boys over and over again. It seems like the only people who want these jobs are retreads with no likely chance of another shot at the big time (Christian) or guys who are probably a year away from getting fired at their current schools (Pastner, Stallings, Buzz).

twballgame9 {l Wrote}:He's not making very much money for a hoop coach. Jesus.

he was making half as much at his previous spot. what about him makes him worth the other 50% and what has he done to show he's a next level coach, recruiter, face of the program?

he may not be making much in comparison to the p5 market but he's also not at the bottom of the list for compensation. he's pretty near the bottom of the list for performance.

His previous job was not in the ACC. Hard to get angry about this.
