My sources on Wright have been more reliable that Goodman's Thamel's or Blauds. They have been consistent and haven't been wrong three times yet.

Did your sources ever indicate that Jay Wright's sons or at least one son goes to Boston College? That was a lie/rumor that made its way to me.

My sources on Wright have been more reliable that Goodman's Thamel's or Blauds. They have been consistent and haven't been wrong three times yet.

For what it's worth, I just received an invitation to an April 29 Villanova Law Dean's reception where the headline speaker is Jay Wright. I know that does not mean anything and the invitations were probably printed up two weeks ago, and I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but you have to think that if Wright is staying at Villanova the one big positive is that maybe Lappas is back in the mix. Fingers crossed.

Bates has got to know his future is on the line. Despite the recent euphoria over the Daz -- and let's hope there are grounds for continuing it this fall -- recruiting classes in the fifties isn't going to make it in the longer term. This BB hire could be a tipping point. Maybe Bates better go back to the BOT and tell them he needs a lot more money. Pronto.

For the record, if the choice really came down to Dooley and Christian, I don't think it is much of a decision... you take the guy who can recruit. That said, since we are swimming in the shallow-end of the pool, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't throw Joe Jones into the mix (except for the apparent mandate from the BOT/Leahy to not interview any minority candidates).
