Greg "The Stiff" Oden Bill Comes Due for Blazers GM

I told him to draft the Texas Gazelle and next superstar, Kevin Durant, but he listened to the other 20+ GM's like lemmings and Greg Oden was in my mind DNA defective since no young man looked like that and that was a poker tell his gene mix was fragile and strange.

I even called him a big stiff and ridiculous that he would even go top 3!

Pritchard....gone...

Durant the next Kobe. Oden will be injured by Game 10 next year and sit on the bench like a doofus drooling or take pictures of his meat bomb for girls. What an asshole Portland drafted and now Pritchard is fired.

HGAW.

That was a pretty sleazy move by Paul Allen to fire him an hour before the draft but still have him work the draft. If I were Pritchard, I'd have drafted Tyler Roche and called it a day...

Oden might have sucked, but good luck finding a better available GM than Pritchard. He has made some really good moves in his time there.

Durant ruined him. He had a chance at a dynasty with the next choices and blew it1

He did...but someone still needs to be held accountable when you whiff on the biggest draft pick in team history to the degree that he did. And it's not like it came out of nowhere. Oden played one injury plagued season in college and had medical red flags flying all over the place. The only "logic" for taking Oden over Durant was "he's big and athletic, and you don't pass on that"...Michael Jordan says hello. The only negative on Durant was that he didn't test well at the combine. Other than that almost everyone agreed he'd be a better individual player. In addition, the Blazers made the cardinal sin in the NBA draft, by taking need over best available. They thought they were good with Brandon Roy at the 2 and as such didn't need Durant (sound familiar?). You always take the best available player in the 1st round of the NBA Draft.

Which was Durant.

Fairly sure that's what I said...

The Blazers roster is loaded with talent, just can't seem to put it together.

The Blazers' first choice to replace Kevin Pritchard: Danny Ferry. Because when you can get rid of a very good GM and replace him with a guy whose best move was having his team win the lottery two years before he got hired, that's a move you have to make.

You beat me to the punch.

Danny Ferry was a horrible lucky player with a great long term deal and mangled 3 other players.....

Great posts lately....except for the meat bombs.

Pritchard may have fucked up the Oden deal, but that was one huge fuckup...except 20 other GM's voted fro oden and one guy said Durant was the guy....I forgot who in that poll and it still pisses me off.
