No mystery candidate

Fox Sports Jeff Goodman just tweeted the 3 finalists (Cooley, Coen and Donahue) and said Gene will hire within the next two days. This is the most predictable search of all time.

I am calling it now: in two years, Spaz will step down from the Head Coaching spot for some BS reason (more time with kids, health, etc). Gene will give him a cushy no show job in the Athletic Department. We will run a "national search" that will result in Ryan Day taking over and Gene will have made his last football hire before retiring.

if the right actions were taken in the last year or two, we could have had brian kelly and bruce pearl running our football and hoops programs.

The best thing that could happen to BC would be if Gene was fired/resigned tomorrow. Not one AD in any other major conference would conduct a "national search" for a head coach and have Donahue, Cooley or Coen be their final 3 candidates. What a fucking embarrassment.

At least with Cooley or Coen we get back to where this program was when Skinner was actually had success. If Donahue can recruit, this program takes a step forward.

If the "national search" truly resulted in these three finalists, then Gene has failed BC.

Keep perspective - I'll take Donahue over two more years of Handsome, Bonzie and the Katzenjammers any day. I can't believe he would offer Coen or Cooley. It would just be politically stupid for him.

Wait... it had to be Coen... right? OJ said that he wanted Pearl first, Coen second. He had no interest in Cooley and said that Coen was responsible for Skinner's success. So... how can it be or Cooley? It CAN'T be or Cooley. The post has to be At least with Coen we get back to where this program was when Skinner was actually have success.

National search? No, they just promised a "city" search.

You guys are being way too narrow minded. Ithaca is part of the "nation" isn't it? It is waaaayyyyy west of Boston - and it is not even in Massachusetts! And Gene's call to Pearl in Knoxville required a long-distace phone call - you know, across like 6 states. If you don't know it by now, that means "national" in his book. ;)

The least extensive coaching searches in the history of coaching searches:
1A) BC football coaching search
1B) BC basketball coaching search

Thanks Gene.
