There's no overcoming acute, widespread food poisoning. Why wasn't the game cancelled or postponed, rather than letting a bunch of half-sick players do themselves more harm? Isn't there a precedent for such an action in the NCAA?

Wait is this serious?

If so there is no way BC should have played that game yesterday. 7 guys having that is a legitimate excuse

The story is they thought it was just food poisoning, but later (likely as symptoms didn't get better) the diagnosis was e coli. I'm not a doctor so I have no idea if it is reasonable to not realize the distinction.

No clue there that is awful though. Apparently Robinson was throwing up during halftime.

Needless to say hopefully everyone is okay and there's not a chance in hell they should be playing a basketball game Wednesday.

Did they really get it from eating at Chipotle?

LDE mentioned them getting sick from eating at Chipotle... and there has been a well-known coli outbreak at Chipotle in October/November. Wouldn't this make the news that MA is the 10th state where this is confirmed?

serious snark free question, in light of the "we though we had corrected" is that a bad statement?

I'm fine with criticizing players when they suck. That's what he's doing.

I'm just waiting for Militant, Caddilac, HJS and the rest of the crew of idiots to come out and knock the coach for lobbing his team under the bus in the press conference.

Sorry to disappoint but I have no issues with what was said by the coach. Keep trying though.

It makes sense that 7 guys have it. There were other players that looked to be in bad shape out there.

The players deserve some major credit, win or lose I can't believe they gutted through ecoli and nearly won.

Yes. Ecoli is brutal I'd be surprised if they could beat a D2 team with that

Health Alert - posted 12/7

Several students have come to BC Health Services complaining of gastrointestinal symptoms; the common factor among them is that they had all eaten at the Chipotle restaurant in Cleveland Circle. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has been notified, and is working to determine if there is a link to the ongoing national outbreak of e-coli. The Food and Drug Administration has issued information regarding this outbreak, which can be found on the FDA website. Students who are experiencing these gastrointestinal symptoms are encouraged to seek medical care, either on campus at Health Services, a local urgent care center, or from their own physician.

Ya- the school sent this email out to the student body today.

How long can we use the ecoli joke as an excuse for future loses? 2017? 2020?

Hoffses says now 10 with symptoms, and with Carter out, have 11/15 healthy players.

Why did they even play UML game if htey knew about this ? LDE posted it at 1230 that day, I assume JC knew way before that.

Boston College says several of its students, including members of the men's basketball team, complained of gastrointestinal symptoms after eating at a Chipotle restaurant in Boston.

The news sent the restaurant's shares broadly lower on Monday, as investors feared an outbreak that originated in other states could take a toll on Chipotle's sales.

Again, because they didn't know what it was at game time. Food poisoning can be lots of things.
