That's where Eli Carter absolutely kills us. Like 4 straight atrocious shots and we are now down 12.

But what are you gonna do when you have so many freshman.

I don't mind Carter shooting a lot but there's too much chucking right now.

Frankly this team is just a lot better than we are

Agreed. Our freshman look like they are ACC caliber

BC doesn't look out of place here

The household of Duke fans I'm watching it with here in Durham agree, which is always good to hear. We look young but well coached and talented

If they lose tomorrow to UC Irvine I would be discouraged. This one is already over

The defense is abysmal today. I know MSU has serious firepower but way too many open shots

Theyre going to lose by 20 and play well if that's possible.

How does Providence get to play Evansville in Game 1 and we get stuck with MSU?

Thought BC actually played pretty well in that first half, Michigan State is just really good.

2 many easy putbacks for MSU. We clean up the boards and we are winning this game. I do like the color commentator's best advice for us is to run 4 corners. Come on, BC! :ace

Carter is doing more harm than good here. Take the ball to the basket stop chucking.

We're down 30 so not really....

Too much talent out here for BC, this is going to be the long term problem.

I'll be cheering for something bad to happen to Valentine the rest of the season.

Carter's been atrocious out here. I don't want to see anymore of this garbage from him this season

The frosh can play. Carter is going to hurt us as much as he helps us. But, it is what it is. Clifford played aggressive but was eaten alive on certain defensive series. I thought Diallo actually played well and got some terrible calls against him. He still has years to go, but I think he can be real good his junior year. As I posted in the recruiting thread and was evident last night, the team needs a PF who can defend and rebound. It is a major hole on this roster. They tried to address it with Marfo, but haven't looked into that area since losing him to the powerhouse that is George Washington.

What was the final verdict on how they played. I listened to it on the radio driving back from NJ last night. It was an MSU broadcast so I couldn't quite tell how we played.

Sounds like the first half wasn't bad but MSUbjust turned it on and rocket shipped us in the second. Were they competitive at all in the second?

They played fine. MSU is a lot better, got helped by the refs all game and shot the lights out.

The defense and Carter were pretty bad.

I sat courtside and my observations:

- Michigan State is loaded. They are ten deep. They are strong and quick.
- We got blown out because of the missed defensive assignments, and most of all by not forcing the ball out of Valentine's hands early in the second half. In a few of the timeouts Christian just looked at his assistants and said "What is (blank) doing?" (Garland and Milon were two of the targets)
- Robinson has game. He definitely belonged out there.
- At times Eli Carter had to force something because no one could get open (reference first bullet point).
- There is no way Mezniaks is 6'7 (as he is listed on the roster)
