I've been thinking about it and i think we can be a little better next year.

this is how i see the lineup playing out, thoughts??

Olivier Hanlan
5th Year Transfer
AJ Turner
Idrissa Diallo
Dennis Clifford

Garland Owens
Will Magarity
Transfer
Shawntrez Davis (assuming we get him)
Darryl Hicks
Matt Milon
Jerome Robinson

fill the 13th spot with another 5th year transfer or leave it blank

the key is hanlan,

if he comes back, he's DEFINITELY top 5 returning players and honestly could be the top player in the conference next year

i think diallo helps i think turner helps, it will be key getting a 5th year transfer shooting guard who is a scorer. if this happens i can see us as a tournament team. probably CBI but also potentially NIT

thoughts

If we land Davis, he starts.

Doubt it, Magerity is perfect as a stretch 4.

BC will never play in the CBI. Too cheap to pay for games

Assuming full health from Diallo, Clifford is not starting next year. I think Hicks is gone.

The above sort of looks and feels like an ACC Basketball team. It's been a while.

Watching the free game on Monday, Hanlan played like a guy who's leaving. Hanlan has a pro game.

Find me the mock draft that has him in the First Round. Only way he comes out is with a First Round guarantee.

You have to play defense in the NBA, sometimes at least

Is Hanlan set to graduate early?

Hanlan is still too small to play his position, and not good enough to play PG. He needs more work. It's coming around, but slowly.

I'm okay with that. Wouldn't want to play with the 101-116 best teams anyway.

I think Hanlan will be second round whether he leaves this year or next year. I'm not sure he can last very long in the NBA but I think he can get drafted and shuffle around the league at least.

i see him frustrated in the d league for a year or two and then trying to decide whether to get a real job or head to europe

as said several times, his offensive prowess is not sufficient to make up for his defensive shortcomings... and that's pretty sad considering the defense of the nba

i don't think they are going to bench clifford in his senior year. diallo is a PF isn't he? also why do you say you think Hicks is gone. do you know anything about the situation?

They should bench Clifford right now.

can't bench him now, he's already played... but if they declare his 2015/2016 redshirt sometime before the end of april i think it would give him enough time to recover and add some value

Clifford will be the third or fourth best big man on this team next year. Assuming we are playing the best players, he isn't starting.

I heard the same thing ATL did about Hicks before the season. I basically wouldn't count on a kid who has had two knee tears in the last two years.

Assuming health, Robinson can spell Hanlan at PG next year

just there was an article on him on rivals saying we just offered so clearly we are in the mix. he tweeted a top 7 recently and we were in it.

also, so no hicks next year? 2 questions

1. do we keep caudill
2. how many transfers do we get, there will be like 4 open spots

Is it just me or is Caudill on the Van Wilder college plan?

Let's slow down on Diallo for a moment. Here is where I see things. He was considered raw when he got here this year. He is going to sit out a whole year without playing, and lose a year of development. My expectation for next year is that we see a lot of quick fouls followed by extended minutes on the bench because of it.

I just have no clue on Hicks.

There is no way the staff keeps Caudill

A kid from the South who likes all those other schools mentioned, combined with the "I have narrator my list from 15 school to 7not in no order" does not strike me as someone we should assume to be landing. Then again, he may not have real offers from those other schools.

All I know is that he would start right now for BC if eligible.

He was supposed to visit in February since the initial post I've seen no follo up though.

Barring injury, Clifford is the starting 5 next year without a doubt. The only real question is whether we play Magarity/Diallo next to him at the 4 in a two-big-man lineup. Also, I don't understand the fawning over Shawntrez Davis. He's got 90 seconds of footage on youtube and there's nothing more than him catching the ball a foot away from the basket and doing a dunk or a lay up. I don't understand his recruitment either, it seems a little "off" to me that a top 100 kid from Georgia could get offered by BC in the winter of his senior year and we instantly make his top schools list. Seems like this might be a Jeremy Miller situation or the academic issue is real, in which case he's not coming here anyway. Personally, I think Michael Edwards might actually be better. The way that more power conference schools are getting interested in him as time goes on seems like a good sign and I think he is athletic enough to guard the 4 spot as well as big enough to guard the 5 spot.
