hope it's not due to a set back but a full year to develop isn't the worst thing for someone who everyone declared as raw

Agreed, there is no point in rushing him back.

This has the potential to be a whistlestop on the epstein campaign.

It's gonna be awkward when they apply for a 5th year for Jackson and they don't for Caudill.

There has got to be a better way to use a scholarship than on either of these guys. Let them go somewhere else closer to home for a fifth year.

I'm not convinced Caudill would care that much: isn't he off to law school? Esp. w/ the roster space we have next year, would having Jackson around be that terrible? Is this what we have for next year (and w/plenty of question marks)?:

1 - Hanlan / Hicks
2 - Milon / Robinson / (Jackson)
3 - Owens / Turner
4 - Diallo
5 - Clifford / Magarity

This report makes Robinson sound a lot like Jackson (aka. perhaps not a reliable ball handler):
"Jerome Robinson, SG, Raleigh (N.C.) Broughton — For victorious Broughton, Robinson stepped up in the second half to drill key shots. The slender wing knocked down 7-10 for the game en route to 17 points. A Boston College signee, Robinson lacks explosiveness or much one-on-one scoring ability but should develop into a solid system shooter for the Eagles." ~http://bostoncollege.scout.com/story/1497507-hsot-day-four-notebook

Very depressing report about Robinson and Milon has similar skills.

That scouting report on both players seems unfair. They're not Owens level of athletes but they're decent enough athletes. They both can shoot and seem to understand how to actually play basketball. Robinson didn't win the MVP of that holiday tournament against other D1 players without being able to score one on one.

Robinson's level of competition is the lowest of the 3 recruits and he didn't play on a high level AAU team so it will be the biggest question mark how his skills translate. I think Milon can be like a less tattooed Shawn Marshall.

What makes the report downright scary is that, according to Robinson (and TOS), BC is recruiting him as a point guard. BTW his only other offers are from Florida International, Old Dominion and Youngstown State.

Times like this make me wish our h00ps w31rd05 had actual sources and provided CONTENT instead of talking about AAU and the Not Basketball Association.

Diallo will be redshirted unless Clifford and Magarity both are unable to play at all. The coaches do not believe it would be fair to the kid to blow an entire year for less than half a season. Also, he really is not comfortable offensively with all the sets, so he would be a real liability on the offensive end. The program is much better off with him having a full 4 years to develop.

I've watched him warm up twice. His offensive game already looks better than any of our other big men and he is clearly the most athletic.

Having said that there's no reason to play him this year.

i definitely think you play him if hes ready / wants to

we still have more than half the season...if jimmy mac plans on lasting more than 3-4 years here hell have to have equally skilled (preferably better) big men coming after diallo

If Diallo is at all skilled and the coaching is even borderline, a guy of his size and athletic ability is not going to make it 5 years. He's 6'11'' and can move. Play him when he is ready, worry about the future in the future. He might be able to cover Hanlan's man when he gets to the basket.

Even if his repetoire is only defense and dunking, a couple of years in the ACC and the scouts will be watching. Remember what :seanwilliams was like as a freshman and he went in the first round as a junior because he is tall and athletic
