I'm in the same boat. I'll back off GDF for a long while if you can get Bruce Pearl here.

If he hires Bruce Pearl, a large check will be in the mail from me within 24 hours.

I thought those were only used at lottery winner ceremonies and on Arrested Development. How'd you get ahold of one?

Well, the checks themselves cost about $50.00, so I will write one for probably $25.00 :P

Basically what I've heard about Pearl as well. He's a legit option, tho I wouldn't call it the most likely. He loves BC.

Interesting to hear on Mooney. Too bad.

BC SUCCESS + BC GUY= PEARL simple math :screamyeagle
GDF give the guy what he wants so our program can move in the right direction….he’s a BC guy, local guy and would fit in perfectly!!
Say we hire Amaker and we still can’t beat Harvard there will be mass suicides all over BC nation

I'd love to see Pearl here. Make it happen, Gene.

It's not going to be Coen. GDF needs to make a splash. I've said it before: Todd Bozeman.

Pearl's contract signed in July 2008:

Pearl was previously signed through 2013 and made $1.3 million last season. His new deal increases his salary to an average $2.3 million a year. It includes a $250,000 bonus and an upfront retention bonus of $1.5 million.

"We went to Bruce and talked about giving him some upfront money to incent him to feel even better about Tennessee than he already does," Hamilton said.

Should he chose to leave Tennessee in the next five years, Pearl would owe a buyout that starts at $2.5 million and decreases incrementally each season to $1 million.

Throw in Skinner's buyout and that's a lot of Dead Presidents. :violin

As if I needed confirmation. Oh well. Pearl ain't happening. But again, even Coen is an upgrade over Skinner. All is not lost.

Al's buyout won't be that big a deal - there's a clause that there are offsets for his new salary, and I have no doubt he'll get a job.

But yes, Pearl's buyout would be expensive.

Tennessee also has a great recruiting class (two ESPNU100, one of which is a McDonalds all american). If Pearl comes back to BC that class could come with him.

Alright - F the Frozen Four and donating to the students. Let's have a vote to allocate this week's earnings to Bruce Pearl's pocket (sorry hockey weirdos, find a TV. Detroit sucks anyway)

If Bruce Pearl is willing to come here and we do not pay for him to come here I don't know what I'm going to do. I have already screamed at the poor kids from the call center that I'm not giving money until Greasy Gene is gone. So, I can't threaten to not donate.

I have to think of something appropriate. Can we start a phone chain to the athletic department urging Pearl's hiring? That seems like a good idea.

I've already called the athletic office and offered my limited financial resources to helping pay for whatever buyout/salary increase would be involved in bring Bruce Pearl to BC. Like some others on this board, I would immediately be on board for season tickets if this happened.

And for the record, Pearls recruits would not be coming with him. They've already signed their LOI with Tennessee. So we'd probably have to endure a 19-12 season next year and allow Pearl to bring his kids in for 2011-2012 before we saw any real dividends paid.
Is this the 5 o'clock free crack giveaway?
