i'm talking more about guys that played hard and were tough. SBT, Akida LOL. not in the same class as Marshall or Rice - those guys hung with the best in the ACC, traded haymakers with them, won big games on the road, were on ranked teams.

All of his other high major offers were June 2015 or earlier. If I had to guess he didn't cut them from his list as much as they stopped recruiting him, and his top 6 is a more accurate representation of schools currently recruiting him (no inside info, guessing). I have no idea what level of priority the kid is for us, all I can tell about the 2017 class is they want Santos-Silva. Just don't lose a recruiting battle to Donahue.

He is a year younger than anyone in his class apparently so there's certainly some upside.

People wanted a 6'8" PF who can rebound and is a decent athlete. This is pretty much it

See, this list is very different than Simmons' list. Santos-Silva basically just listed the 8 biggest schools to have offered him (except for Depaul - he must hate Depaul). Reminds me of the kid last year who had both Yale and Oklahoma State. You kind of get some insight into the players' mindset by the way they put these lists together. You also have to remember half the reason they put out lists at all is for attention on social media, so take it for what it's worth. Other than the 5 star recruits with 100 schools harassing them, there's no practical purpose served here. An interesting question is if guys who approach publicizing their recruiting one way or the other are more or less likely to choose BC...I have hunches but each case is unique so it's hard to draw conclusions.

One of the top rebounders in the 2017 class, Marcus Santos-Silva will take an official visit to VCU on September 16. The big man visited Temple this past weekend with another lined up for Kansas State in the coming weeks. The BABC star will be on campus in two weeks with Elijah Landrum, a tough-nosed combo guard from Oklahoma.

This makes me nervous, these are not the actions of a kid who cares about academics or staying local
