It sounds to me that Ohio would release Owens from his scholarship if he chose to make such a formal request (now that Phillips has met with him).


Also, rumor going around that Brewster Academy SG, Jared Terrell (who signed with Okie State), may ask to be released from this scholarship due to some sort of issue arising at home. Preston Murphy supposedly was tight with him at one point.
