College Head Coach: Troy Calhoun, Mario Cristobal, Dave Doeren, Ron English, Skip Holtz, Mark Hudspeth, Butch Jones, Paul Rhoads, Charlie Strong, Bronco Mendenhall
College Asistant: Bob Diaco, Kirby Smart, Mark Stoops, Brent Venables
NFL Assistant: Pete Carmichael, Jr., Rob Chudzinski, Greg Roman, Mike Sullivan, Josh McDaniels

Agreed. If Kevin Rogers was the best we could do at OC, I can only imagine what crap of a head coach we would hire. We would probably bring in Bill Stewart.

This is no longer an issue.

I wouldn't put it past them.

Yep, there is a precedent.

The last assistant I'll throw out there is in the NFL right now, Greg Roman, the former Stanford staffer. He came close to getting the Vandy job before James Franklin was hired. Roman is very well respected. He's Jim Harbaugh's OC in San Francisco. The New Jersey native might get a long look at a few college places later this year, especially at BC, where Frank Spaziani is in deep trouble.

According to a report in the Miami Herald, the Florida International Golden Panthers have signed coach Mario Cristobal to a one-year extension, meaning the coach is now under contract through 2017. But will he really see the end of that contract? Earlier this year -- when he was under contract with FIU through 2016 -- Cristobal was in serious discussions with Rutgers about their coaching vacancy, though obviously he eventually turned them down. At the time, Greg Cote of the Miami Herald wrote that "you can never trust a coach."
"Never trust a coach who says this is his dream job, like Urban Meyer did at Florida, because his is an occupation of steppingstones, of bigger dreams always out there.
"Never trust a coach who says he is 'not going anywhere,' like Nick Saban did with the Dolphins before becoming Alabama's coach, because one phone call, one enticing offer, can change all that fast.
"We want to believe Mario Cristobal is different, the exception, but that blind faith on our part felt a lot like naiveté early Monday. And still does to a degree even as he stays (for now).
"I'm not picking on Mario here. It's in the coaching blood."
