NCAA takes yet another totally reasonable position

Dez Bryant, suspended possibly for the whole season, for lying about going to Deion Sanders' house. Going to Deion Sanders' house is not a violation. I guess it's like they say--it ain't the crime, it's the cover up. Well played, NCAA. You're the most awesome kid in school and totally not fat at all.

Give him a one-game suspension. They've already acknowledged his only sin was lying about it--probably because he sees how fucking nuts the NCAA goes when they're dealing with these kids. The rest of the season is ridiculous. Even if his appeal is successful, he's out three or four games. Yeah, the kid made a mistake. Teach him a lesson, but make it a reasonable one.

Dez Bryant is a projected top ten pick who lied about chatting with Deion, talking about workouts, and then going to lunch, which Bryant paid for.

Fuck the NCAA. This reeks of Myles Brand.

What I hate is the uneveness in which the NCAA enforces its rules.

If a kid makes a mistake, he pays harshly with his eligibility. If a school knowingly violates the rules, the NCAA will first look at the "bigness" of the program before deciding whether to out them on probation or issues a slap on the wrist. The smaller you are the more likely you will get the death penalty.
