Couldn't believe the amount of people out there at 8:00am.

Are offices closed?

Not mine, but then the powers here probably didn't watch the Super Bowl. I'm a block away from Tremont and it was almost impassable.

while you were holed up in your office, this is what you missed.

Has Gronkowski always been Fred Durst, or has been a gradual transition?

Sorry Pats fans... even an appeal ain't getting #81 back on the team.

When he got acquitted, I told a buddy that it must be devastating for Hernandez. Think about it... he killed Odin Loyd because he was afraid his loose lips would lead authorities to finding out about the 2 guys he killed in a drive-by. His worst fears were realized as he eventual was tried for killing the two guys. However, it turned out he was worrying for nothing, because he was acquitted on all counts. So, he killed Odin Loyd for no reason... and, is now serving life without parole, when he should instead be free (making money, crushing ass, collecting rings and raising his kid) after literally getting away with murder. Yet again... the cover up proves more costly than the crime.

Is it true that, since Hernandez died before his appeal could be heard, his previous conviction will be dropped and the Patriots will be on the hook to Hernandez's family for whatever guaranteed money they didn't pay him?

What really sucks is that even though Hernandez hung himself the Pats will still take a cap hit for the final year of his contract. But thanks for saving the taxpayers millions on incarceration and appeals fees.

Yep. That's it. That's the main thing that sucks here.

So what happened to Cyrus Kouandjio? Did playing for the Bills get to him or did he get some of the bad synthetic weed that Hernandez got? I hope Martin keeps this stuff off campus.

Kouandjio was found a short distance from the scene of an accident, having abandoned his vehicle. He was in a field "not fully clothed", after climbing an electric fence, and allegedly yelled "shoot me" at an Erie County Sheriff's deputy. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/cyr ... spartandhp

The Swiss cheese part can be fixed by playing generic cover two. I'd be more worried about the complete lack of talent in the front 7.

Offense is fine, even playing abysmally with a shitty game plan and 2 missed 4th and inches and a dropped TD, they scored 27.

hopefully daz takes this to heart, doubt it though

Doug Pederson: Coaching conservatively is a good way to go 8-8

“You learn if you play passive, if you play conservative, if you call plays conservatively, you are going to be 8-8, 9-7 every year,” Pederson said. “Every year. Frank and I just having that collaborative spirit to talk about things and talk with our quarterbacks and just come up with ways of keeping this game fresh and fun and exciting for our players. And that’s really where it all stems from.”

With the lead, knocking down a desperation heave . . .

. . . because Doug Pederson has huge balls, and knew how to make a backup QB better in this game than Brady.

Brady had to face an actual defense. But yes, the head coaches of the Colts and Lions got abused yesterday. Pederson's gameplan on offense was a masterpiece.

Putting up 600 yards of offense and not punting all game is not getting abused. The Pats D on the other hand...

I don't understand why Pederson and (to a much lesser extent) Reich are getting any credit for the win... since all NFL insiders in the media know that it's all attributable to position coach JDF.

I'd argue that this was the least talented Patriots team in 17 years. They lucked themselves into a situation where they didn't really face anyone of significance. That said, given the lack of talent, I think that this season may have been Bill and Brady's most impressive season... as they basically dragged the rest of the team to a Super Bowl lead in the 4th quarter.

Yeah, that's not true. If anything, they're on par with the 2011 team that had a good offense and a shit defense. The 2009 team that got smoked by the Ravens in the WC game was probably the most flawed.

Fine, the first few red zone appearances and pass to Brady may have soured me on boy genius.
