It's an 8 year old hatchet job acting as lengthy excuse for why Goodell looks bad. The excuse is the main thesis for the article. Not sure how else to view an article whose main quote is an owner saying that this was a "makeup call"

There is very little in there that is new information. There is also basically nothing that purports as actual evidence and not hearsay.

It's also still legal to tape signals. ESPN and most NFL fans still don't know that.

It was also legal to tape signal where the Pats were taping them for 6 of the 7 years over which ESPN determines that the Pats taped signals for 40 games.

Wow, was that article pure crap. It was essentially a blogpost that took all of the accusations that have ever been laid out, sorted them into a timeline, presented them as fact, and threw in some quotes from several butthurt individuals. They act like they're actually telling us something new, and that they actually have real evidence.

Quotes like this truly spell out the nefariousness of the Patriots. They were clearly the only ones to ever work on deciphering an opposing team's signals ... in any sport...

The practice of decoding signals was universal in football -- a single stolen signal can change a game -- with advance scouts jotting down notes, then matching the signal to the play. The Patriots created a novel spying system that made the decoding more dependable.

OK, so they were better at doing something everyone was doing? The thing the Patriots are guilty of is stupidity and arrogance. As they began achieving success and other teams were becoming "Jealous .... haters," they stupidly didn't stop their version of signal stealing after the league warned teams to stop taping from the stands. Had they simply stopped doing it so brazenly, they would never have provided fodder for the rest of the league and their fans. Of course, hundreds of thousands of idiots across the country, people that think ESPN actually has journalistic credibility, will jump all over this vomit so they can jump back into the Social Media battlefield for the anti-Pats Jihad.

I do find it ironically amusing that the two writers of this garbage have the words "Natta" and "Sham" in their names. Seems rather appropriate....

On "Mike and Mike" this morning, Roger was asked point blank by Cris Carter whether the pursuit of Brady in Deflategate was related to owners rage over old Spygate. Roger said there was none...no relationship or correlation at all. There you have it. If Roger said it it must be true.

Did Carter advise Goodell to find a "fall guy" in his crew?

Did Greenberg tease this going into commercial? "People have been falling over themselves to talk to Roger, and Cris wants to know if Roger has a guy who can take it. We'll find out after this..."

The most damning thing found in the ESPN expose: Patriots provided warm Gatoraid to opposing teams.

Cheaters.

Now that Brady is playing, the NFL ESPN retaliation based on old news is just sadly pathetic in a pretty funny way. The SI article is just downright awesome. Belichick is renting space in the heads of most of the coaches and owners.

Kraft should go full on Al Davis. Then HJS could switch teams.

he has those under the tights. the zubaz are for pre- and post-game. gametime itself requires game face AND a uniform

You wear zubaz with the jersey that says "Morgan" on it. EndlessBluth wasn't even born then.

Surprised there was no mention about ol' Bill throwing discarded banana peels in front of kickers attempting a field goal. And here we thought it was just the tough New England conditions. Nice try Patriots.
