Tim Tebow is back. He just signed with the Jaguars. I am guessing that they will probably do with the Pats did and use him up in practice to get their legitimate players better and cut him on the last day for cuts before the season begins.

Welp, they gave Heisman winner Cam Newton an entire season to reboot/restart his NFL career that when nowhere. So at the last possible second, they released him today.

That contract that they offered him and he signed back in March of this year for $13.6 million, that was all just smoke and mirrors. The Patriots knew back then that he would likely see not one cent of that money BUT (like they did with Tebow) they could use him all summer to help develop the players that they intended to keep and actually, pay.

He got something like 3.5 million for a few weeks of work. Not a bad payday for absolutely sucking at football. He became expendable when the rookie showed he has a head on his shoulders and can throw a 10 yard swing pass higher than the turf.

I did not know that anyone got paid in the pre-season. I assumed only the 16 regular season games count for money. Learn something new every day.
