Another SBN column from my cuz...
Great column.
The only thing I disagree with is Shook's characterization of the state of BC football as "mediocre." When our offense ranks among the ten worst in all of 1-A in most metrics, when the strength of the team is a defense that ranked somewhere around 70th, when we finish ahead of only one team in the justifiably-knocked ACC, when we can put only one player anywhere on the all-conference team (offense or defense, 1st, 2nd, or honorable mention) despite having the preseason conference players of the year on BOTH O AND D on our roster, when we have scored more than three offensive touchdowns in a game against a D 1-A opponent only once in the last two and a half years, and that against arguably the worst team in 1-A, when our record has declined for three straight years since a point at which we were also termed "mediocre" by everyone from the national press to our own fanbase, and when we're clearly not competitive with any opponent among or even near the top 25 in the land, we're not "mediocre." We're simply "bad." Or, at best "sub-sub-sub-mediocre."
