Bowden & FSU: Class Act

Postby barstoolbcfan on Thu Oct 01, 2009 9:45 am

FSU, through its Alumni Association and other components of the university that includes the athletic department, will make a donation to Uplifting Athletes. The amount will be $9,400 — a gesture representing Herzlich's jersey number.

I saw Herzy talking to a bunch of Wake guys after the game the other day. I think Mark is one of those guys that is universally admired and respected by opposing players and coaches alike. From Dabo's $5K, to the Clemson team signing the #94 Clemson jersey for him, to Beamer and the wristbands - setting a $5K goal and bumping it to $9400 because Tech fans bought so many, to this $9400 donation from Bowden, everyone seems to be on board with this. Never seen anything quite like it, and I think the fact that it is Mark that is the spokesman has much to do with it.

Mark Herzlich is the best BC football player I have ever seen, and he is proving to be an even better guy off of the field. And evidently the rest of the ACC thinks the same.

Honestly, what would the responses have been if we were still in the Big East? Maybe a get well soon card? 94 bags of urine from West Virginia's players?

Herzy's high school is having a "March for Mark" this Saturday.

might be a good place to throw a buck or two if you weren't able to for the BC event.

tobias better step up - since i think its safe to say he would have the closest relationship with herzy

Actually, Tobias is about to take credit for Herzlich dominating his cancer.
