The line is now FSU-4. It started FSU-6.5. This is the second week in a row the line has moved in our favor by a significant amount. Good sign I guess.

According to the vegas insiders, this is actually a sign to bet on fsu since the betting public is more often than not wrong. Of course, that would have cost you some money last week.

That's when everyone's picking a game one way and the line doesn't move. That means smart money is going the other way a la BYU/FSU 2 weeks ago.

If everyone is picking a game one way, the line will move....if the line doesn't move, how would you know everyone was going one way or the other?

Casinos don't tie the line to the number of bets, but the dollar amount on each side. And it is not a direct correlation - they move the line to prompt betting to balance the total dollars.

If 1000 people bet a dollar on BC, and 1 person bets 1000 dollars on FSU, the line ain't moving, even though "everyone is betting on BC". In this case, it is likely that the big money is going on BC, which means a) the line is moving to prompt the dumbasses to balance the dollars and b) it's probably smarter to bet on BC because the big money is usually the guys that know more about betting.

All of which means: 1) if everyone is betting on one side and the line doesn't move, bet the other way; and 2) if everyone is betting on one side and the line moves, go with the crowd. In reality, don't bet unless you believe in the bet, but if you are going to follow the trends, you want to be on board with the big cash, not the general populace.
