Seeing as how they can blame players for the coaching staff's mistakes, I think negative posts about the players are encouraged over there. And of course once a player is gone early for whatever reason it's customary to declare that he was not a "BC guy".

I think we now should move on, we owe it to this years senior class who will return, did not defect when others did to get behind and start putting some positive posts on here. They will give us a great effort every Saturday. By calling out Spaz and Gene at this point is counter productive. They are both here for at least one more season. This group of seniors have been through a lot, especially those on the offensive side of the ball. I for one look forward to the posts when we can start discussing personnel and positioning. I can understand the frustration. So your homework tonight is to write at least a five sentence paragraph about something positive about this upcoming season!

This Board has become like the Republican debates in South Carolina. There is so much anger between the combatants that it is hard to figure out who the sane posters are and who is crazy. We need a judge to oversee the Board and grade each post as to its accuracy. It feels like we are out of control. I trust Farrell to do this. He has a lot of inside information and seems to support the administration. Maybe he is wrong but I do know that he doesn't tell us everything he knows and he is not supporting Lively.

At the same time, Lively may not have researched all of his complaints and written his letter completely within the King's English, but Gene's Athletic Administration appears to have overstepped it's authority. Like the Catholic Church and the Pedophile scandal, BC is tone death in regards to the status of the program.

Personally, I feel like our anger at Spaz is misplaced. The guy has a job to do and is doing the best he knows how. He is far from perfect but we need to give him credit for hiring the best offensive line coach and coordinator he could find after having a terrible year. I also think Rogers situation caught everyone off guard and we were in damage control until the last several games of the season.

In regard to Gene, the guy is not acting alone. He runs his decisions by the BC leadership. He also is doing the best he can in making each selection and some of them have not worked out. But I think Donahue was a stroke of genius and we are going to be very happy long term with that decision.

Everyone on this Board loves BC or we wouldn't be so adamant in our positions. So what do we do for the good of the school? I think we take a deep breath and think carefully about what we say. Things are never as bad as they seem when you are losing or as good as they seem when you are winning. After 12 or so winning seasons in football, we had a stinker. Let's not over react and throw out the baby with the bath water.

Second... Farrell is over there wondering why people have fled his sight by the truckload. The reason is two-fold: (1) it ain't worth paying for no information... now, this is likely to do with the fact there is literally NOTHING to report on (or it could be because he is a lazy bastard); and (2) his refusal to point out the obvious regarding staff shortcomings (and going further to ban those who do) have soured those who go there only for the message board.
