Deval should have named little Mike Flaherty to mind the seat so that Tom Menino wouldn't have to divert his attention from the real business of governing the city to something as time consuming as campaigning.


Mumbles doesn't have to campaign. We pay city workers to do that for him.

logical choice. Kennedy clone, respected everywhere. St Seb's grad, IIRC.

I thought for sure it would be Senator Michael Du-TAX-us. If the state legislature wanted to clean their slate, wipe away centuries of corruption and partisanship, they could have done that in seconds by appointing Mitt Romney to the seat.
