How are we different than Virginia Tech?

Postby billyshelby on Wed Sep 23, 2009 9:28 pm

We both have great defenses and weak offenses. Tech gets the nod at QB with Taylor, of course, but he still can't throw. Two Freshmen RB's are putting up all their rushing numbers. The very few passes that have been caught go to two sophomore receivers. And their line is, at best, comparable to ours but not as experienced. We're starting another first time QB which is always a problem. But we have a more seasoned corps of running backs, wide receivers, and guys up front. Tech is like us last year. We should be like us last year with another year of experience.

So how are we worse off than they are, or as Spaz would lead us to believe, drastically worse off?

Spaz is full of crap. It is ALL on him and Tranq. Our Oline is the same as last year except for one non-NFL draftee departure plus a year more of experience. It's the blocking schemes, not the kids on the Oline. Our Oline--essentially the same one we have now- PUSHED FSU all over the field last year in Montel's break-out game. I remember Musberger and Herbstreit both saying they hadn't seen an FSU defensive line pushed around like that in a long time. The only diff from last year is that we had Jags, Logan and Bick. This year we have the Three Stooges. I'll let you guys determine which ones are Moe, Larry and Curly and you can add Shemp and Curly Joe and Joe Besser in as well.

Their offensive coordinator has actually been an OC for a conference winner multiple times. Despite many more attempts, our OC has never been OC for a conference winner.

It's impossible to get decent goiter pizza in Boston. Except for Santarpio's... they ship their water in from Blacksburg.

If we had this playing for us, we would be undefeated.

No delay. That lightning did not come from the sky, rather it came from Lane and shot into the heavens. It occurred just after this:

VT's offense is one of the worst in the ACC the last three years (9th, 8th, and 11th last year). Their OC isn't the reason they are considered better than BC and if VT struggles this year, then most certainly their OC will be under fire. They have had QB issues the last several years(ever since Vick left).

See this website about VT's offensive coordinator http://www.firebryanstinespring.com .

Tranquil was the QB coach for UVA in 1989. TOB was the OL coach. There was no official OC named in the media guide, but it was Tranquil calling the plays and leading the offense that won the ACC title in 1989. TOB was then promoted to OC after Tranquil left UVA.
