I come in peace from EI

Hello! I learned of this site from bignick33, and I just want to introduce myself to this forum. I know that many of you had a terrible experience at EagleInsider.com. I obviously can't change the past, but I can assure you that I have never been associated with anybody associated with EI and that I will do everything in my power to make EI a home to anybody who would like to join.

I am NOT the new publisher right now, and in fact, I am volunteering for the time being in order to make EI more attractive to a potential publisher. Or, perhaps I will be the publisher down the road.

In any event, once the powers-that-be get around to it, the monthly charge will be $3.95.

I love college sports, BC in particular, and would love to help rebuild EI into a place where all BC fans and some haters can gather for great coverage, and just as importantly, a great environment to forget the "real world" for awhile. I firmly grasp the concept that message board environments are every bit as much about pure entertainment as they are about information.

Also, for the record, I read somewhere here that I wrote that I am wrong as much as I am right about recruits. To clarify, I mean that my own assessment of the potential of certain prospects runs hot and cold. The information I gather about recruits is objective. I don't miss with that!

When I get the proper site permissions, I will un-ban everybody. I have no use for the sense of power some might get from threatening to ban paying subscribers, or of course actually banning them. I want the site to be a success, although in all candor, this site is more active than either EI or EA.

Part of the goal was to make sure all the EI posters knew about the existence of the new EO; part of the goal was to encourage visits by opposing fans, whose idiocy on the free football board were a large part of the fun of EI.

This is one reason.

I would have gone with "the prior publisher was a douche with no content* other than his personal ramblings on shit from UVA that didn't particularly like BC, had helped ruin EA, and chose to bow to the three or four 80-year old whalepants that he was able to lure from EA instead of the 100-150 regular BC Guys that were already there in homage to Chevy."

I have no allegiance to EI. I will very likely not be the publisher.

I agree that there is very little to pay for on Internet sites, which is why I said the only way I would take on a site at Scout was if they slashed the prices. Not shockingly, the bulk of the hit in subscription money came from my pocket, which is fine. I can't make my living doing this "job." I do it for fun. I would love to cover BC, but to get a credential, I have to be associated with a pay site.

We might as well get this out of the way now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're a Boston guy. You spent time publishing an Domer fan site. That is no secret. Between ND and BC, where does your allegiance lie?

I read here that some people found it creepy that I interviewed a prospect's mother. It is funny; after doing this for years, I have yet to get over the creepy feeling of chasing after 16-17-year-olds (or in Jimmy Clausen's case, 45-year-olds) trying to mind-F them to give me information about where they might, possibly, but-not-for-sure go to school. I prefer stalking the adults associated with the kid's recruitment.
