What I Saw Out There Made Me Sick

- Hey, Turner.
- Yeah?

What do you say we call this off?
This is getting ridiculous.

They're calling it off in minutes
so let me give you a little advice.

Let your team stay out there. That way they didn't give up, and they won't be quitters.

I'm calling this off right now.

- I was just thinking of your boys.
- The hell you were.

The hell I wasn't.

What I saw out there today
made me sick
, you know that? Your team has no right being on that field. Look at yourself, Butterworth.
Look at that team. I mean, why don't you do this league a favor? You and the Bears just drop out. I mean it. I mean just...
just drop out. I mean it.

We forfeit the game.

You forfeit?

Yeah.

That's it! That's the game!

I have always tried to liken BC teams to the bad news bears as in, "who do we have next?" "[insert name of team]" "well that is bad news for them". A drunk over the hill coach who has no business being in charge and quit at the first sign of adversity is not a bad analogy. :ace

Except Buttermaker didn't quit. He kept fighting. He fought admissions to get Kelly Leak on the team and he brought in a reclamation project in Amanda Whurlitzer that actually worked out (in contrast to Shinskie). Also, the dude struck out Ted Williams. Spaz couldn't strike out the dead, frozen head of John Henry Williams. Buttermaker forever, Spaz never (Tm Logi).

Spaz' halftime interview made me sick. He carried himself as if he were a defeated man coaching a defeated program.

As Lombardi used to say....'show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser"
