UNH off the 2014 Schedule?

Not a huge loss, but it really makes me wonder if we should forget about these lesser FCS teams and focus on larger non-conference games. Looks like we have a few open dates for 2013, 2014, and 2015…. What do you guys think?? Who should we schedule?? Notre Dame anyone?

We will schedule a 1 AA game.

There's no shame in scheduling a 1 AA game. Every d1 school does it and until they no longer count toward your bowl eligibility, we'd be crazy not to take a freebie every year.

A Big-gum is a top opponent on the schedule, such as an SEC or a Big Televen team. Try posting this word. Do not include the dash.

Actually, those games are pretty profitable for BC. There is no return game. Unfortunately, given the amount BC can pay for that 7th home game, the opponent will be 1AA.

Take off the rubber band and get TCU?

This is why I have been all over GDF for 7 years... a blend of amnesia, mixed with stupidity, a huge dose of mediocrity, and you add in complacency and you get....

BC ATHLETICS....ever to make it look good and come close.....

I'm sure we'll replace UNH with some powerhouse like Maine or URI

depends who the fanbase is. I don't see Alabama, Clemson, Georgia (and countless other fans) only showing up if the opponent is good like they do at BC.

I've said it before: GDF's masterplan to scare all other potential football competitors in the northeast into submission continues to work its magic. The only shame is we miss that W for 2014. I am just surprised UNH didn't announce dissolution of its football program too, like Hofstra and Northeastern.

GDF better schedule two 1AA's for the same date. At the rate they are dropping football, we need a back-up plan. If not, we can always do a double-header?

Maybe we can make the spring game count that year. It'll be more competitive than some of the 1AAs we've played lately.

Interesting idea. If the defense beats the offense, is it a tie? A loss and a win? Do we temporarily revoke the scholarships of the losing side so we can call it a BC victory over some New England team?

People in New Hampshire actually go to UNH games.

UNH may have played at "the same level" as Hofstra and Northeastern, but they recruited at a whole different level. No, they aren't even close to being at BC's level, but their players were a much higher caliber than what Hofsta or Northeastern is used to having.

GDF needs to schedule an opponent that’s on par with the other teams we have coming in USC, VPI, Clemson, UNC, and Maryland
