Whipple

What really went on behind the scenes? I think it was clear to everybody that he was one of the top, if not THE top, candidates to replace TOB. The local Fox station reported that he was offered the job.

Was he not offered the job because of who he wanted to hire as assistants? Or was he offered the job and turned it down because he wouldn't have been given freedom in hiring assistants?

He wanted to bring in his assistants, GDF wanted to keep assistants on staff.

Jags was OK absorbing assistants, so he got the nod.

Whipple wanted his own staff. Our AD wanted Spaz, McG and Siravo on the staff. At the time it was spun as "Whipple wanted to bring in a bunch of DIAA guys." Somewhat valid excuse until you realize that Spaz just brought in a few DIAA staffers this year.

I don't know if Whipple would have been a good head coach but it sure as hell seems that he would be more productive than Tranq as BC OC. Gene and Spaz missed the boat on that one.

If you find a new HC candidate with an impressive track record like Whipple - you give him the keys. Of course he should be able to decide his entire staff. Anything less than that is idiotic. Nobody wants to work for a pinhead micro manager. Typical short guy.

Well, we could always fire our OC now just like TB did to Jagz and same with the Buffalo OC. Just get rid of them now. Need evidence? See this photo per ATLeagle:

What's wrong with this picture? Besides the highway up the middle the DT is being allowed to take? Why nothing at all, says Gary Tranquil.

The fact of the matter is that after the shit-storm from our last "firing" I doubt heavily that there will be any personnel changes any time soon.
