SAN FRANCISCO -- The Emerald Bowl has renewed its agreement with the Pac-10 conference but will no longer have an ACC team in the game in San Francisco starting next season.

The bowl announced Thursday that it signed a four-year deal with the Pac-10. The Emerald Bowl will have the sixth pick in the conference. The other team in the game will come from either the Western Athletic Conference, Army or Navy.

The WAC will provide one of its top three teams in 2010 and 2013. Army will get a bid in 2011 if it is bowl eligible, with Navy getting the nod in 2012 if it is eligible.

Really? The WAC replaced the ACC? I thought this was one of the better 2nd/3rd tier games.

Well, Hustlin'Owl must be happy.

This sucks, but the bottom line is that no ACC team except BC wanted that bowl. That said, I hope that, if BC isn't going to the Orange, Peach or Gator, that we get sent to the final game in San Fran.

BTW... this was the bowl the NBE targeted to steal from the ACC after we tool El Paso.

Anyone hear anything about the Holiday Bowl... a natural for BC fans everywhere.

I can see how most ACC teams wouldn't travel well to San Fran... are there any good bowls on the East Coast that the ACC has a shot to pick up?
