What’s crazy is the false starts, yet the Oline has been pretty good today. Makes no sense

Demanding coaches have attention for detail. Talking about it in a meeting means nothing. We probably never call it out as it is happening in practice. With TC, it seems like his cadence throws the lineman off. If the program had attention for detail, they would have harped on this over and over until it was fixed in practice. We're too busy trying to be positive in practice all the time, worried that the players will like the music enough.

The coaching calls were not conventional but I didn't have a problem with it. He did enough to give them two chances at a FG to win.

17-131 is the difference between losing by 2 and winning by 2TDs. That's the coaching problem.

Offensive game plan was good, and the Oline more than held their own against one of the best fronts in the country. Defense is too light to play Hafley’s scheme. The penalties are just beyond absurd- pop Warner level bullshit

Pupel is horrendous and should be blasted to the sun yesterday, but that facemask was called on the wrong guy. It was a DL, I think Okpala who also had a near game losing personal foul last week on 3rd and 21.

Considering the first two games, I thought it was a good performance too. Think there is still a lot of hope for this season. Won’t be easy but 8 games is still doable. No team left on the schedule we cannot beat.

Agreed, whoever came in from the side pulled the facemask and it was not Pupel.

Castellanos is a game-changer. If they can figure out how to line up on both sides of the ball they could be ok even with a dumpster fire for a HC. Robichaux and the OL and Castellanos have emerged as good recent developments. WR group seems ok.

Two big drops today again. I know they are going to happen but you'd think after Games 1 and 2, we'd see very few drops and penalties but we're still seeing it and they're killers.

The penalties are atrocious. But we have a real quarterback, something we haven't had for a long time. The OL is also showing promise, as are a few of the WR's, and Robichaux does have some big back ability even if he's obviously not a burner. The DL needs to get better pressure (even if solid in the run game), the LB's looked a bit better with Arnold having a strong game, and in the secondary Jones played well.

Personally, the killing defenseive facemasks just feel like bad luck that will regress to the mean. But the constant false starts and holdings are hard to watch. Hopefully, that's a problem that gets fixed as the offense gels under Castellanos. But as technically imperfect as the team is at this point, I'm pretty optimistic they can be a lot better going forward. I just wish we had more speed at LB. That alone could fix a lot of problems on defense. But to be fair, Hafley is supposed to be an expert in that area and I'm not seeing that so far.

FSU average 55 coming in and they only got 31 today so have to give the defense some credit.
LBs are probably the weakest room on the team but this seemed like their best game today.
