Remember when our annual super bowl win was Notre Dame?

Do not get me wrong I prefer the bragging rights against Holy Cross.

Fordham has to be licking its chops for the 2025 season opener. :ace

Arnold and DePalma are very, very slow. Blackwell has some speed but makes up for it with lack of size. They really need Steele. Anyone know what is wrong with him? He looks fine (and much bigger). He is a little old for mono.
I actually like the DBs other than Pupel. He is very noticeably slower (live) than anyone else on the field. Really surprised how little Nelson is playing as I thought he looked good in the Spring Game.
Not really sure what to say about the DL except that it has been disappointing.

Offense:
The OL has been OK against inferior Ds. Mahogany had a terrible game against NIU.
Tackas killed us in the NIU game game. He didn't have a drop today. Thought the TEs would be a bigger part of the O this year. There have been very little 2 TE sets.
The RBs are mediocre at best. Gone are the days of AJD, Williams, Green, Cloud...
If we had good WRs, they would have stood out against the last two opponents. They didn't.
Moorehead was so bad last week. TC is athletic but never looks off his first target. He is also hard to like.

depalma is rocking the dad bod already & arnold put on way too much muscle and can't move.

ezeraku has been very silent considering opponents and the rumored offers he received this offseason

Our entire LB crew is terrible and has been for years. Could we not find guys that are fast and normal sized? The current crop is either gigantic and slow or tiny and fast

We don't have a good LB or TE on the roster. We actually should consider going with no TE sets lol. The "we need Steele" quote is laughable. He has been soft as charmin for two years. I'm not betting on that changing. The new head coach will overhaul LB and TE. The idea of converting a safety to LB sounds nice, but you have to develop guys that get to the ball and make solid tackles. Aside from DePalma, a high school LB, no one does that. Duggan/Lukabu have failed miserably on that. The joke is that Hafley wants to play 5 DBs in his base defense. But we are rarely in that defense. Why? Because we can't stop the run, even with 3 LB's on the field. Arnold, Blackwell, Steele, etc.. are not slow. They get blocked. They are incapable of shedding a block. When Steele gets to the ball, he's likely to have it broken, or need help to finish the tackle.

Can't be too hard on the RBs when we were playing our 3rd string guy. It is a deep RB room. But Garwo and Broome are best.

Ezeiruaku was very silent in the Holy Cross game. Not a good sign for the rest of the way.

That is on the defensive line. They are not doing their job. Their job is to establish the line of scrimmage one yard into the backfield THUS tying up ALL the offensive linemen in piles. This frees up linebackers to make the tackle at the line of scrimmage, negating the opponent's running game. Linebackers are being blocked because defensive linemen are blown completely off the line.

IRREGARDLESS the LBs are horrible and have been for the last 4 years. Either huge hulking slow guys or safeties trying to play LB.

Too soon to book our trip to Charlotte?

Going into this 4 ACC game stretch, there is nothing much we can do about our dreadful run D but we really need to get healthy on O. Garwo wearing a "serious rig on his leg" means he will not be back any time soon.

Garwo, O'Keefe, Reynolds, Takacs, Lillis, Terry, Tongrongou, Steele, Cheek, Faoa, Farris, Jones, Clemons (and probably others) were out Saturday and Shitta left with an upperbody injury.

It's better than Addazio and Spaziani. It's not good but it's fun and it's not Italian.

Hard too image how we can win out without our 2 3 RBs and an injured QB

a new path:
-Louisville loses to Miami or Virginia

-UNC wins out

-BC wins out

The ACC Championship game would be between the Florida State Seminoles and the Boston College Eagles.

Mmmm, no I don't think so. Louisville's last game of the season is against Kentucky, not UNC.

Louisville only has one loss in conference, just one. And Louisville already beat BC. So Louisville (a team that just smoked VPI by 31 points) wins the head-to-head decision vs BC for the ACC Championship slot vs F$U.

BC must run the table AND Louisville must lose to BOTH Miami AND UVa. That is... not going to happen. ACC championship will be Louisville vs F$U. I said that last week, nothing has changed.

Three teams including UNC? I can't box it. If there are tied records for TOP ACC regular season play for three schools and head-to-head does not break the tie for ACC Championship play (ie, BC is NOT instantly booted from consideration because they lost to Louisville but didn't play UNC), then the ACC retarded and I don't blame FSU for wanting out. Let me check what it is.

Okay here it is

http://theacc.com/documents/2023/5/17/ACC_FOOTBALL_TIEBREAKER_POLICY.pdf

ACC {l Wrote}:Three (or More) Team Tie
Three team (or more) tiebreaker procedure will first be used to identify one Championship Game
representative. Once that team is determined, the tiebreaker procedures restart for the remaining
tied teams.
1. Combined head-to-head win-percentage among the tied teams if all tied teams are common
opponents.
2. If all the tied teams are not common opponents, the tied team that defeated each of the other
tied teams.
3. Win-percentage versus all common opponents.
4. Win-percentage versus common opponents based upon their order of finish (overall
conference win-percentage, with ties broken) and proceeding through other common
opponents based upon their order of finish.
5. Combined win-percentage of conference opponents.
6. The tied team with the highest ranking by the Team Rating Score metric provided by
SportSource Analytics following the conclusion of regular season games.
7. The representative shall be chosen by a draw as administered by the Commissioner or
Commissioner’s designee.

Okay so, head to head does not apply because UNC never plays Louisville. So Louisville spanking BC is meaningless because they didn't play the Tar Heels. First two tie breakers do not apply. So we drop to tie breaker 3. Who are the common opponents for BC, Louisville, and UNC?

GT
UVa
Pitt
Miami

BC would be the only school to defeat all 4. Okay, well.... shit. That is serious rules lawyering but whatever. That is a still a whole lot to happen. Anyway, I stand corrected. Claver is right and the ACC is retarded.

Ask IB who should go if UNC the Ville and BC were tied, the Ville still blew out BC, UNC had blown out the Ville and BC had blown out UNC.

Per three people close to the program, I am told that Elijah Jones is NOT injured. But he is out for the year. I am guessing it is disciplinary, but do not know that for a fact.

not great!

with hindsight hafley's quote backs up it's not injury:

This for sure had something to do with the gutless display of football BC put out there yesterday.

Jones tried to plant the flag on the Cuse 50 last week, not sure if it’s related or not.

This team has had a culture issue for a while. You can sweep all the off field stuff under the rug, but it’s still there.
