I haven’t been here for a good while, so maybe this is redundant, but Jurkovic’s performance as well as his interest and commitment clearly degraded with the fact that week after week, the OL proved to be unable or unwilling to demonstrate even a modicum of progress from the point of the season’s beginning when they were third rate, high school level performers. That clearly is on Hafley for apparently convincing himself he had the horses to succeed, where that clearly was not the case. What’s more, the defensive secondary which coming in was tagged as a strength has crashed and burned miserably. Once again. I lay that failure at Hafley’s feet. On balance, he seems woefully deficient in the head coaching role, and leaves us with the fleeting hope that he is a quick learner, as he is the coach for the foreseeable future.

Shinkovec being terrible at QBing has nothing to do with the OL. He is only here because the brilliance of Kelly and Rees at ND realized early on that star rankings from fluid hips has nothing to with ball throwing. They wanted him to move to a position fitting of his intellect and leadership skill set… tight end.

FWIW I knew Jurk wasn't what we previously thought when he did that interview where he whined "Coach kelly lied to my parents!". Said a lot about the fragile , soft culture we're carefully cultivating in our football building. Too many players in that building think they've done a heck of a lot more than they have. When they get out there on the field, and bullets start flying, the truth comes fast.
