I appreciate Hafley going for it on 4th every time. That’s certainly not what we are accustomed to with recent coaches.

That being said this BC’s worst result of his tenure by a very significant margin.

All well-coached teams throw a ball 7-yards on 4th and 10 and then have the WR run horizontally for an additional 2 yards (instead of vertically for the first).

This is Daz-esque performance coming off a bye week. I will maintain as this team misses another bowl game, that not getting another QB ready to take over post-Clemson was the moment the rest of the team quit on the season.

I don’t think it hurts him, as any objective observer can see the nature of our QB play and understand why a rational adult would decide to sit it out. A possible Belk Bowl or Armed Forces Bowl appearance is no reason to risk 1st round money.

So… in case anyone didn’t catch that since we ran the ball with Stehr for a safety… Hafley finally gave another QB a snap… Menard. So, for the record, Hafley’s two QB recruits are so bad they are behind two Daz walk-ons. We always talked about Daz’s Achilles heel was never recruiting QB well. Somehow, Hafley is worse.

It’s really that the coaching staff quit on the 2021 season by not preparing for the immensely likely scenario that Jurkovec would miss multiple games due to injury. That became evident after the staff double-downed on Grosel after Clemson. The fact that Menard is second on the depth chart means that Rueve and Moorhead are wasted scholarships.

Stop. Two of the three passes that 80 dropped were horrifically bad. Grosel missed two TDs on consecutive passes, one the TE had to come back on and the other the receiver was the only guy on his side of the field.
