HJS {l Wrote}:DomingoOrtiz {l Wrote}:BC923 {l Wrote}:Clemsons offense has been terrible in every game they’ve played (except SC State) and now they’ve lost Shipley. Their defense is still very good even with the injuries but I don’t think they’ll run away with it. It will probably be a pretty ugly game—maybe we can steal it
I watched most of the Georgia game and the ends of the GTech and NCST games. Their offense was horrendous against Georgia but I figured this was because of UGA's great D, but maybe not based on the GTech score. The Oline was just getting abused on every play against UGA. They only only lost the LT (2nd round NFL) and OC from last year's team. Anyway, I suspect their OLine will look much better against our front 4.
Clemson's problem is on their OLine. It was the reason that OSU destroyed them in the playoffs. Against NCS and UGA, it was a constant jailbreak into the backfield. DJU had no time and the RBs had no space and their elite WRs were afforded little opportunity to break free. Our DL is the worst part of a shaky D. They will allow the skill positions to show why they were all 5-star athletes. HCIWTL is going to need to blitz the living hell out of Clemson. Confusing the already challenged blocking schemes is about the only path to keeping Clemson under 50.
That is certainly possible hjs, but I do not think it is likely. NCState are not world beaters defensively. Do the wolfies have a better defense than BC? Yes. Are they that much better? I don't know. And Georgia Tech? Meh. Their game against UNC was certainly impressive and unexpected. But I still think Mizzou has twice the offense that Clemson has AND Mizzou's O-line is much stronger. Wolfies and Wreck hold Clemson to 14 points after 60 minutes of play and BC gives up as much as 50?
Doubtful. And with injuries, its possible that a very weak Clemson offense is even weaker now.
The Missouri game went exactly as I expected it would. And I expect exactly the opposite in this game, low scoring, teams struggling to keep their offense on the field, holes on the line of scrimmage for Garwo to get 4 yards but no breakaway runs for 60, etc. BC's defensive line did zip to Mizzou the entire game (no pass rush, no control of the line of scrimmage, no nothing) and I think we may see a change at Clemson, especially if the Clemson O-line is as bad as you say. Is Clemson's line as bad as Temple's O-Line? BC held them to 3 points.
