Insulting your opponent a few days before the game feels like poor strategy to me.

i view it more of insulting the fan base - which deserves it. and is also reason halfly is willing to go anywhere to play. the away fans have to be better than aluminum bleachers (yukon and maryland, excepted, of course)
now in the street there is violence
and, and a lots of work to be done
no place to hang out our washing
and, and i can't blame all on the sun
good god we gonna rock down to electric avenue
and then we'll take it higher

I am wondering, wondering if after the game Drinkwitz would let the BC team float around in Mizzou's lazy river?

Actually the "Show Me" state has been very kind to Boston sports teams over the decades. Bruins ended a dreadful 1960s decade won a Stanley Cup at the expense of the state of Missouri in 1970. Patriots won two Superbowls (including their first) at the expense of the state of Missouri. And the Boston Red Sox ended the Curse of the Bambino at the expense of the state of Missouri.

Curious why this game shouldn't be scheduled. Prefer UMASS Lowell?

I would rather play Alabama.

I think this is exactly the OOC game BC should be playing. A respected member of a P5 conference. This isn’t Kansas, which was a no win situation (sadly, quite literally) for BC. They are low tier SEC for sure, but there is value in this game, plus in the broader scheme of the OOC schedule something has to counterbalance playing 3 cupcakes.

Agree with this. This is a game that you credit for winning but not bashed for losing. Should be a nice day and good for recruits if we win. If we had Jurk we are favored.

I disagree. I see Missouri as no better or worse than Purdue and Kansas. Big yawn if we win, and a "BC lost to them!" if we lose. The fact that this game has created zero local buzz is evidence of this. I bet most people don't if know that they are in the SEC.

He will go far. He has the same tone of fake sincerity, willingness to kiss up, and optimism as Jim Rome. If you like that sort of BS. Sounds just like Rome.

I’m hopeful that our vanilla D (which was neither tested nor dented aside from the second half against UMass) implements a lot of wrinkles this week. We need to win the turnover battle because I don’t see us holding them under 24 points.

I don't see BC holding Mizzou under 28 points. And Mizzou scoring 35 might very well be within the realm of possibility. BC could still win but the O-Line really has to assert its dominance for the ENTIRE game.

Many thanks ATL and then TRE. I had thought the default was the road team brings the refs; the fact it's difficult to identify the actual crews reinforces that notion (since you can just go to default). I wasn't sure because I had thought I heard of mixed crews, but those were probably in bowl games or neutral site games and the like.

Note the statement from Hafley this week about how he and Lukabu work through the calls and cross ones off they "won't need". I imagine that's how teams do things, but that was pretty interesting to verbalize it as a hierarchy of sorts. None of this matters much of course if Mizzou winds up blowing the doors off us. But what's helpful about this approach is that you can sprinkle a wrinkle ;) in here and there early to be sure you start off at least on even footing with Mizzou. If BC is able to somehow get ahead and take control of the game, they can be satisfied winning say 35-27 or 35-31 (b/c late Mizzou TDs) rather than running all sorts of complex schemes to achieve say a double-digit win. I don't mean to be counting any chickens before they're hatched. But iff BC were to be in control as we get into the fourth quarter, what does it matter if BC wins by 18 or by 4 on a late Mizzou TD? A win is a win, and if BC can hold things in reserve for Clemson especially when we assuredly will need our best schemes, then why not take the closer win and move on?

I just want to win by a point. I'm not greedy, a one point win will do. I don't care how they get there.

Missouri is absolutely horrendous against the run. Their front seven is about as soft as you are going to see. Hopefully Grosel won't shoot us repeatedly in the dick like he did against Virginia last year. I don't know if we can stop them from scoring, but our O-Line doesn't have to be great to open holes against the bags of pudding they have playing along the DL.

If their defense is porous vs the run, Grossel will have more rushing attempts than passing ones. Garwo/Sinkfield/Levy should get plenty of carries. Zay and Williams prob get a bunch of jet sweeps, too.
