Curious why this game shouldn't be scheduled. Prefer UMASS Lowell?

Of course the game should be scheduled. Every single year, BC should be willing to play at least one baby-rapist OOC. This isn't Alabama. Its not even Florida. Its not even USC (who Addazio was able to beat at Alumni.) Mizzou is not a Baby-rapist team but BC should be able to schedule them.

I think this is exactly the OOC game BC should be playing. A respected member of a P5 conference. This isn’t Kansas, which was a no win situation (sadly, quite literally) for BC. They are low tier SEC for sure, but there is value in this game, plus in the broader scheme of the OOC schedule something has to counterbalance playing 3 cupcakes.

well, we recently scheduled alabama for '31 and '34 so there's your alabama. the ooc schedule gets tougher starting in '24 after being dumbed down for years to get the coveted 6 wins and a bowl game for dazoo and spazoo. with this new alliance the open dates shown on future schedules will probably be filled with b1g and pac-12 teams and one cupcake, if that alliance ever happens.

Agree with this. This is a game that you credit for winning but not bashed for losing. Should be a nice day and good for recruits if we win. If we had Jurk we are favored.

I lost the Temple bet so I only had $9.50 left in my Wynn account. So

Boston College
+3.0
-110
Missouri at Boston College
Sat, 9:00 AM

Spread
Wager
$8.80
To Win
$8.00
Total Odds
-110

Now I have 70 cents left in it plus this bet

Its fun

sure but bama until recently doesn't schedule road games. there's a nice line of acc programs that have had their season destroyed the year they played bama in the opener.

2021: bama 44 - miami 13. miami is 1 - 2
2019: bama 42 - duke 3. duke ended 5-7
2018: bama 51 - louisville 14. ville ended 2-10
2017: bama 24 - fsu 7. fsu started #3, ended 7-6

BC's record against Alabama is 3 and 1. Alabama hasn't beaten BC since 1943. I say bring them on.

If anyone is in the Phoenix area at 9AM on Saturday and wants to watch the game with other BC fans, we will all be here:

RT O'Sullivan's Sports Grill
7919 E. Thomas Road #101, Scottsdale (SW corner of Hayden and Thomas)

Hope to see you all then.

Mizzou is not an unbeatable team. Mizzou is flawed, very vulnerable to an opponent with a strong offense. They are not Alabama. And yes I know about all the success BC has had against Alabama. But those teams pale in comparison to the teams that Saban has assembled.

That said, even a very beatable Mizzou could pummel this BC team. Kansas was very beatable, look how that turned out? Purdue was also very beatable. Lets not rehash those OOC games.

I believe this is the first OOC game that Hafley has coached as the head coach against a Power-5 team in his coaching career. This will be his first. If I had to guess, he is grinding the players into the dirt this week, trying to get the team carved out of wood for Mizzou. Nothing else exists for this team (and we all know who BC has next on the slate.)

I don't give a shit what kind of offense they run. I don't give a damn what defensive schemes they use. I don't care how quickly or slowly they rotate in defensive linemen. And I don't care if all they do is pass on every down or run the ball on every down. I just want to win by one point. Fuck everything else. Hafley, get 'er done and I'll "get in."

I got 3 whole points from the Wynn yesterday. I think the line may have moved back to +2.5 with more BC action, but that is not much of a move. I'm happy about my almost $9 bet. LOL.

Eli Drinkwitz on Boston College

Drinkwitz {l Wrote}:They may have the best special teams in the country.

What makes them go is their 5 offensive linemen up front. They have 39 starts between them.

It will be a tremendous job for us to stop the run.

Mizzou is not a good team, very weak on both lines, struggled with CMU who lost 49-7 to LSU, lost to KU 35-28. KU struggled with Chattanooga!

BC 34
Mizzou 13

No value on the money line, I took BC with the points. May drop a few more $ on it in Vegas. There is money going in on BC to win outright.

Perhaps, yes. Maybe we'll be surprised? At 3-0, I still have hope.

I haven't been this enthusiastic about a BC OOC game since the 2007 season. Hafley gives a really intelligent press conference. If you ask a question he does not want to answer (and that happened yesterday with the "SEC" comment) he will dignify your question, explain logically why he will NOT answer it, and move on to the next question. He's not going to get angry with the media. But he is not going to say something that makes him uncomfortable. That is an organized young man who has the fundamental conscientiousness of what it needs to coach a power-5 team.

Jurkovec and his season ending injury? Yeah, it sucks. I want to say we and he are super unlucky. I do not want to say he has a glass jaw. If him getting injured and not playing another down for the season is the worst thing that happens this year, then we'll have a good year. But at the moment, the only thing that matters to me is beating Mizzou. And I don't care how they do it.
