For anyone with ACC Network...

ACC Roadtrip is profiling one team per night, multiple broadcasts. Louisville was last night, Pitt is on right now. Lots of interviews w coaches, players, etc.

BC is tomorrow -- Wednesday night, 8/11.

Thank God. Now that we've got Huggins everything will be alright.

Any word on how to split tickets with friends, or give them to others? Not exactly Ticketmaster’s system.

based on using electronic tickets in other forums and parts of the country, it is a big pain in the ass for the ticketholder... but it can be done through emails and text messages

This is now on BC's webpage. It's fairly simple - unless someone's battery dies, or there's a forgotten/lost phone, and then they're probably going to spend hours at the ticket office.

I don't understand why anyone has to mess with any of this. Can't you just go the day of the game, show up 60 seconds before kickoff, buy a ticket from some guy sitting in a cage just outside the gate, and go to your seat? Why worry about any of this?

So you have to have the app to accept a transfer???? BC does everything possible to have less people in the stands and shoot itself in the foot.

Why not have ticketmaster do it, rather than your own app? and I HATE ticketmaster

Can you do this mid way through the second quarter, when most BC fans first attend games? Asking for all my BC friends.

You may be correct (I haven't tested it yet), but according to what BC said, the recipient would still need to create an account.

You haven't been to Alumni/Conte in decades, have you? There's no guy sitting in a cage outside the gates selling tickets; They used to have someone on the North side of Conte selling hockey tickets on the evening of the game, but that hasn't happened in maybe ten years?

What BC is trying to avoid is:

1. Having to deal with the seemingly insurmountable challenge of mailing tickets to season-ticket holders on time.
B. Huge lines at the few ticket office windows, especially delayed by people who insisted tickets were waiting for them (this will still be a problem).
iii) Having to pay a couple of extra kids to man the ticket office for a few hours, because, you know - money.

The "contactless" argument is BS, because the ticket-takers were just scanning paper and now they will be scanning phones. The difficulties scanning tickets with the ten-cent scanners given to the gate staff will likely remain.

The issues will crop up with the many whalepants who don't know how to use their cell phones, never mind Apple Wallet or downloading and signing into an app; people with lost or dead phones; and joe public who doesn't want to deal with downloading an app and creating an account, or whose buddy didn't tell him he needed to do so beforehand, and now he has to deal with the 1-bar cell service that exists around the stadium.

As usual, it will be a cluster.

Pretty much every fan event in every venue over the last 5 years has been attended via electronically ticket. If you have trouble navigating it (or other nuanced paperless things like credit cards), you probably shouldn’t leave the house.

Yes its been many many years since I have been there, more than a decade, maybe more than 2 decades. The last game I attended was in Southern California.

I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that there is someway to buy tickets at the field/arena the day of the game for people who are not technically savvy. If there isn't, then there should be. I'm sure you know what you are talking about and if it is that difficult, then WTF? That is not good.

This. You also shouldn't leave the house because you are 90 and you should protect yourself from large gatherings regardless of the current protocols.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College will require guests at Alumni Stadium and other campus athletics events to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test administered within the previous 72 hours. The policy goes into effect on Saturday September 4, when BC opens its 2021 football season at home against Colgate.

The policy was implemented to help safeguard the health and well-being of the general BC community and campus visitors, and aligns with the campus-wide requirement that all faculty, staff, and students be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. At this time, 99% of all Boston College undergraduate students and 99% of faculty and staff have been vaccinated.
