That’s a stupid take to absolve our shitty D.

Both INTs stopped BC drives that would’ve likely led to points. But, the D subsequently surrendered 14 points as those drives each averaged 90 yards. Points off of turnovers is a stat that speaks to granting your opponent great field position and preventing your D from getting a rest. Neither are at play when you have long drives that end in a turnover deep in the opponent’s territory. Defensively, that’s no different than having a punt downed inside the 10.

We need better talent on D. I can’t even evaluate the coaching with this front 4 and set of DBs.

I agree there is a talent issue. But, I think this is the worst defensive coaching job of the year. Prior to today, they’ve done a decent job disguising their problems. This is VT-level noncompetitiveness. Should end the “OMG we’re losing Hafley after only 1 year!!!” talk.

I can’t really tell to be honest with the front 4 and DBs we have. You could be right.

Even grading the offense on a curve for being without Jurk and Bailey today is a monumental disappointment across the board. Everything about the second half has been putrid.

I agree with this 100%.

However, Grosel has over 400 passing yards. The fact that this is a blowout shows a complete team failure. No rushing game. No D. Crap special teams. Grosel can’t win a game. He can barely manage one. When you have a QB like that, you need the entire team to step up.

Grosel and a few of the receivers are the only ones who showed up. And that's despite the endemic penalties (as usual), numerous drops, and an o-line that curiously forgot how to block at halftime.

Its been a good season. 6-5. Never before in the history of BC football did they play ten power-5 teams all in the same season. So this was really rough of Hafley. Plus he had do with such shitty players. And that is on top of Covid-19.

I am hopeful for the future.
