That 91 yard drive to tie the game is the reason why Tommy Rees was right (compare that to the ridiculous safety taken last week).

You're a moron. Even if Tommy Rees was right, him being right is why BC has a QB not named Grosel and is 5-3.

4th and 24, Clemson will go to Powell. But ND would expect that.

The late hit in 2OT was the difference between 1st and 10 at the 20 and 2nd and 22 and the 37.

BC played poorly today in anticipation of a undefeated ND team coming to Chestnut Hill. My excuse anyway.

In OT, that was the difference. However, the 91-yard drive to tie the game in 90 seconds was a thing of beauty and orchestrated entirely by Ian Book. The kids a winner and Clemson had no answer for him.

I’d argue that the difference was Clemson forcing a turnover on downs with just over 2 minutes left and then putting on a Spaz/Daz level display by holding the ball for 16 seconds.

BC played Clemson when they were ranked #1.

Its possible (not likely, but possible) that BC will face a Notre Dame team ranked #1.

That would be twice in once season BC plays the #1 team in the country. Welcome to the ACC Hafley.

Yup, without a doubt, this is the hardest schedule BC has had in 25 years. Go all the way back to 1995 to see the schedule equal this one in difficulty.

I’ll ignore HJS’ absurd agenda. Notre Dame won the game because their offense and defensive lines punished Clemson in the trenches. Clemson is going to be without both of their safeties (one is probably done for the season, the other for a couple of weeks), one of their middle linebackers (looked like he got folded and his knee went), two O-linemen (one was a season ender, the other just looked like they beat him up until he couldn’t go on but will be back next week), a very good WR who looked like he was taken out with an ankle sprain and the stud DL Brisee, who is almost certainly done for the year. Clemson came in down a couple of guys—and obviously Lawrence being out was a factor—but they got savaged in the trenches, which is something that hasn’t happened to Clemson in a long time. This was a body bag game for them and what’s really crazy is that Book’s shitty passing and ball handling left at least 14 points on the table. Pete Thamel was being interviewed on the ND postgame radio show and he said that if Notre Dame had played a crisper offensive game they should have won by 17 in regulation and that he doesn’t think the drop off from Lawrence to Oogabooga is worth more than 7 points. Said going in he thought there was an outside chance ND could win because of Covid, but that he expected that Clemson would blow them out in the ACC Championship, but after watching how ND savaged Clemson in the trenches thinks ND has an even money chance of beating them again because they won despite playing a sloppy offensive game. Noted that Etienne had as bad a game as he has ever had and that it was because he couldn’t break tackles and J-OK ran him down sideline to sideline and noted that the fumble happened because he knew he was about to get freight trained by J-OK and flinched. As I said earlier this week, the two best athletes on the field when Clemson had the ball were J-OK and Kyle Hamilton and neither was playing for Clemson.

I think the bomb down the middle of the field on that drive, inexcusable to give up by Clemson, was the big play that flipped the game.

I HATED the 3rd down play Clemson ran on the previous drive, some shitty little pass (was it a lateral?) that got nothing and Etienne also ran out of bounds. That was inconsquential since ND didn't run into clock/timeout issues because of the big pass but showed that Clemson wasn't mentally good to close this game out.

Book is slippery, had some big runs in there too. We may need to spy him next week.

Agreed on the third down play. If you are willing to risk stopping the clock, why not throw the ball downfield for a chance at picking up a first down?

Jurk may become better. He certainly has more of a chance to develop into an NFL prospect. Our program can afford him that chance (and, after messing with his head so much that he wanted to quit playing QB, ND never would). But, there isn’t a team competing for a title who would start Jurk over Book. It isn’t remotely close.

This. Your agenda all along has been that Grosel is better than Jurk, which is completely retarded. As to who is better, Book or Jurk, it is a much closer question when you consider the offensive line, RBs and TEs Book gets to work with vis a vis what Jurk has to work with. And the fact is that Jurk has the added pressure of not having the best defense in the country to bail him out when he makes mistakes. Book ran an epic two minute drill and took advantage of a Clemson defense that was shattered by the beating ND’s offensive line and TEs inflicted on them, but is also fair to point out that the only reason ND needed that drive was because Book gave a away a TD and threw a horrendous ball to his TE that left another TD on the table. Still give him props for his intestinal fortitude in fixing an issue he created. But then let’s discuss Louisville, Duke or Florida State. Let’s talk about the fact that if Zay had actually laid out for the ball Jurk might have had a similar result against Clemson without the advantage of his OL pummeling Clemson’s D into a broken mess of walking wounded and inexperienced back ups.

Frankly, your hatred for Jurk is disturbing, but on brand.

Pretty amazing that this was the same team that could only score 12 against Louisville.
It was pretty clear last week that Clemson is not a national champion caliber team this year.

In fairness to Clemson, the kid is really good, but Lawrence is worth a TD and that's all they would have needed. The rematch will be interesting.

I think Clemson’s playbook has been cut to a few pages under DJU. They’ve been pretty vanilla with gadget plays to Rogers, Etienne and jump balls to Powell. DJU isn’t being asked to read the D and check down. Only times he’s gone to alternative receivers is when the play has broken down. It’s not a complaint, but that’s not the same O when Trevor has the controls.
