Bright side is 2 of the next 3 opponents are terrible.

As much as I enjoyed being on the right side of the coin flip last week, by rights this team is 2-3. Apparently we are allergic to Khalil Herbert (who magically had extra eligibility?) but I feel more confident in Hafleys ability to make this a teaching moment than Daz.

I guess the good thing is that until there were single digits remaining in the 4th I thought we may actually stage a come back whereas last year this game would have been over at the half.

In fairness to the gym teacher, they never fumbled that many times on his watch. He would have kept that close in a different fashion and lost.

That VT team is not good. BC was a mediocre team playing their worst game in a decade.

Accuracy-wise... this was easily the worst game Jurk played. In the beginning of the year, he was making terrible decisions with the ball. Over the last few games, he would sometimes hold the ball forever. Today, he was just way off all game. His last pass was a screen to Levy to runout the clock and he sailed it 5 feet over his head and was dropped for a would be 3rd INT.

Worst thing that happened was UNC rolling all over VT on the ground. It gave us the idea that we’d get the run game on track. That set the stage for BC to remove all doubt that the rushing situation will not improve until they hire an OL Coach this offseason.

One or two fumbles is on the players. That slop, with the penalties and the fumbles and the dumb picks, that's not being ready.

This agenda blows. BC finally has a QB. It will be interesting to see if someone can do something with it.

I’m not sure Arnold is any good either, but at least he’s a true freshman

Also, I did not realize how dumb the ACC Network is until I was sitting in a bar on Nantucket and had to watch this game on my phone. That is of course after asking the poor bartender to put in the BC game and watching her scroll thru every sports channel twice.

Turned this one off after a crisp 2.5 hours, which was refreshing. But I examine the box score this morning to find that, even in a blowout, the Grosel package didn't see the field.

It's getting late awfully early for the Hafley-Jurkovec era at BC. Is it possible that when you're only half-jerked, there is no happy ending?

That game was over when VT started Hooker over Burmeister. We just do not have the athletes on D (but Daz was a great recruiter).

In fairness to Levy, he’s quite good in pass protection. But, overall, I don’t get the reticence of using Bailey. He was playing great yesterday. But, then they switched things up with Garwo... which started the gifting process that quickly resulted in us needing to throw the ball all over the field.

Part of the reason why Jurk was off yesterday was VT doing a good job defensively. Give them credit. Anyone who has watched games this year knows that Jurk uses Long as a safety blanket. He’s either the first or bailout read. VT schemes to take Long out of the equation. They also seemed to shadow Flowers. Gill, Galloway and the backs were open all day. But, without Long, Jurk couldn’t get in rhythm and was just off all day as a result. Not everyone will be able to copy this D successfully... but I’m sure they will try.

Btw... with the OL... are we a full time ZBS team again? The struggles on the OL feel like the mess we had with Jim Turner... which prompted JB3’s return. It is the only thing that makes sense as to why you would shuffle and why these seasoned, well-respected players would suddenly suck so bad and miss tons of assignments. That said, they were marginally better this week. But, still way too many times guys are coming untouched because of missed line calls.
