That's a good development. Jalen Williams had a few good offers including UNC, Kentucky and WVU.

Johnson was on there last week.

Was Garwo listed as an OR for 2nd string RB? Could have swore he was third string?

I love the fact that Hafley said that because the team won, they are in high spirits for the week so that gives the coaching staff the ability to ride them even HARDER in practice. That is good. Keep the pressure on.

I just checked out how Texas State has started the year. Don't seem to have any trouble scoring. Can run and pass. Defense seems to be a more of a mixed bag (though they kept LA Monroe in check). This is their 4th game. They are 1-2 but easily could be undefeated based upon the close back-and-forth first two games of the season.

That sure as hell is what it sounded like in the postgame interview. Feel bad for him.

Sounds like Texas State is riddled with COVID issues, they’re concerned on their board about the safety of playing us in terms of lack of depth.

Maybe they should cancel this game. We don’t need Texas St infecting BC.

There will not be one player or coach with Covid-19 that gets on the plane. That is their problem, that leaves them a depleted roster. There will be 60 Texas State players on the sideline, just not the 60 that they want.

They are not a good football team and their defense is objectively awful. Gave up almost 450 years to ULM and that’s their season low in yards against. Allowing well over 4 years per carry. On offense they are much more prolific through the air (though they have started their second string QB the past two weeks) than on the ground though, so the secondary has to keep ball hawking. This combo of porous D and reliance on the pass can be exploited for a significant differential in time of possession, grinding them into dust in the second half.

Do you really trust the testing Texas St is doing? There could be infected players that have yet to test positive. ND just postponed the Wake game due to 7 new positives for a total of 13, plus potentially more with contact tracing.

This Texas State game would be the exact kind of game to make Daz look bad. He'd be all over confident coming off the Duke W. He would look at the tape and their W/L record and decide "MY Offensive Line will mash them". And then of course, the total lack of preparation defensively for playmakers unleashed all over the field would just leave him mouth agape as we spilled into a 42-41 shooting match with lots of fun stuff like missed FG's from the 13 yd line.

Glad we don't have to see that!

This is my thought. We might see that.

I mean lets be honest, the ONLY reason why BC won the Duke game is because Duke LOST the game. 5 turnovers, you lose. Period. I don't think it would have made a damn bit of difference who was coaching the Duke game. A pop-warner coach would have beaten Cutcliff with 5 Duke turnovers. BC's one and only turnover resulted in all of Duke's points.

10 minute quarters?

Texas State is not Howard and this is not 2015 where the team faced vindictive karma for scoring 50 or 60 unanswered points (or whatever it was) on poor little Howard and was punished by going 0-8 in the ACC. I agree with you, they will NOT be 10 minute quarters. Texas State >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Howard.

True story, kid who coaches my youngest boy's flag football team was a starting DL on that Howard team. Good kid, has a bright future and the boys on the team love him. I asked him about that game--he was a sophomore at the time. He had no hard feelings and didn't feel disrespected. Basically said "we really sucked" (BC) did everything they could in the second half to slow things down, but "we played defense like a wet paper bag. The only guys who could play were Freshmen and Sophomores." Of course, two years later they beat UNLV in Vegas and then lost to Kent State on the road in the last minute or two of the game and finished 2nd in the MEAC, but even then he said the talent disparity between the MEAC and even a terrible P5 is massive.

If football gets you a degree from Howard, good for you even if you have to get run over by a few P5s.

the radio show is actually good this year even meter and cronin.

nice story from hafley. knowing he was probably done for year w acl kobay asked to travel down w team and then texted hafley if he could go w equipment team to set up lockerroom at 530 last saturday to help team.

hafley talked about accountability and started meeting on sunday by showing team all the things he did wrong and won't do again. meter said 'it's nice to have some accountability around the program'

it's on the podcast feed if you're looking for something to listen to around the house
