Texas booster told me he was pulling together a 3-year, $10 million NIL deal for Arch. Hard to compete with a free McGovern lease and a sandwich named after you at Eagles Deli

I thought NIL was illegal in TX?

I have no doubt I can match that for a Manning to come to BC.

I would have him in commercials with his uncles and Brady in a week.

Honestly, who is coming up with these deals? Like, maybe if you push out hokey commercials for your dealership or a trip-and-fall law firm firm that air on local TV. But, it seems weird that T. Boone Pickens wannabes would send millions to a High Schooler who may-or-may-not suck in college (under the guise of them being employed to like social media posts of your company). In a real world where expenditures are supposed to yield something more than lottery tickets, you'd think that someone like Arch Manning would be better served to pick a school where he could be the face of the program from the start of freshman year (much like his uncles)... at least, from the perspective of a universe where NIL wasn't fraudulent. Note: I'm not saying that it would result in Manning picking BC. I'm just saying that you could see a situation where Manning's Name and Likeness would be more valuable as a Day One starter.

I will say I ran past what this booster said about Manning nil by someone who really, really knows Texas football, And this guy called bullshit. He says Texas fans talk a big game but just do not step up to support the athletic department. He said they're probably 100 schools with better actual donations to sports than Texas. That said, this booster claimed to have a milti-billionaire alum lined up to fund the deal.

How many Billionaires do you think are Texas alums? Seems like there are less than 11. Billionaires are still pretty freaking rare. So, this ultra-wealth connection would likely be someone who is decently famous. Point is Arch Manning is likely not the first time this friend of yours would have mentioned his affiliation.

Another commit just came in… so that would make there be a total of two not yet announced.

I congratulated the UT booster on his deal working out and he hemmed and hawed alot, saying the kid doesn't need anyone to arrange nil deals for him, given his family - obvious he had no hand in it. So my other UT contact was right - the school's boosters are all talk, no action, at least in this case. Maybe an Eagles Deli sandwhich would have helped.

I went to go pick my son up at lacrosse last night at a local High school. And there was no parking at all. Then Willie McGinest walks past, and I kind of followed him to his car, thinking that would be a spot. But he wasn't leaving. Turned out that the reason for no parking being available was that this HS was hosting the Elite 11 QB Dilfer thing. There were even people decked out in Oklahoma gear there just to watch the Oklahoma commit perform, lol.

Not sure why McGinest was there. There were a lot of Dads milling around, so maybe he has a kid there?

Datrell Jones

BRAEDEN MARSHALL

BOUBACAR TRAORE

Hanafin is announcing today. 247 is predicting Clemson. Would he be there first Mass recruit since Rudy Harris?
My guess is ND.

Seriously, what position does a 6'2", 210 lbs slow guy play? Safety I guess? Feel like 8 more years of Palmer is not really my speed.

Kid can fly. Clemson recruited him as one of their 2 WR's in this class.

This is definitely that TE that sort of went to Alabama part 2. Denny Dalton in the NFL perchance?

If he doesn’t arrive at BC until his 5th year, where do you think transfers to when he leaves Clemson?

Holy Shit! I had wondered what happened to the Mamaroneck Meathead. I see he is a graduate student. Did he get his undergraduate degree at BC or from Colorado State? I forget how many years he was at BC before he left with the Dazzler to make pizzas.
