This was a huge game because BC had lost to Wake Forest the past two seasons. Wake had BC's number. In some ways, Wake still has BC's number.

Did anyone attend both games? I went to the UVA game but I wasn't going to sit through a monsoon two weeks in a row, especially since I couldn't find anyone else that wanted to go.
One play that stands out in my memory of this game was Will Blackmon letting a Wake WR get behind him on the last play of the game. We very lucky that he didn't catch it. TOB was screaming at him afterwards (rightly so).

Yes, I went to @VT which was the next game. We got to watch QP and TOB lay eggs after 12 days of preparation. And it was a Spaz cushion special too. That was the height of my TOB anger. Huge Thursday night game as Top 20 opponents and it was obvious Ryan should have started.

It’s gonna be fun tonight to get drunk and yell at the TV.

Sounds like someone wants to join in... I'm calling "not it" for playing the role of center hash. :shrug

I don't hate Sam Lager (will never go out of my way but it's fine enough when you're choosing between Bud Light and Truly at a wedding) but Yuengling is trash with undeserved mystique perpetuated by long-term limited distribution in an era prior to the craft beer boon.

Echo elvii's negativity here, Yuengling is worse than Rolling Rock.

Two things stand out right from the start...

1) the talent on the DL and LB was insane on this team, and in this game it didn’t even include Kiwi. Brace, Raji and Kiwi on the line, Henderson, Toal, Dunbar and Pruitt at LB. The fact that Akins was the starting CB speaks to how awful the DB recruiting was then. This is an all-time defense with a couple of decent corners.

2). What a crime that Porter played at all: he is awful. And starting Whitworth ahead of AC was also criminal. In hindsight, it’s amazing how bad Bible’s offense was. WF was controlling the game on scheme and a very good RB alone. Overwhelming size is the only thing that changed things.

The recruiting holes are so glaring, but even still this team had way too much talent to not have done more.

1. The talent overall was SO much better than the Daz recruited 2019 squad. How about the OL? Really our weakest position was RB. Akins was a pretty good college DB, and he was invited to the combine. Also, Tribble was the other CB (6th RD pick & made roster), Silva made an NFL roster and Glasper was a very good pre-injury DB. You forget RoFro at LB.

2). It is hard to blame TOB too much for being behind in that game as screwy things can happen in bad weather, especially after an emotional win.

If we had a usual BC RB, that could have been one of the best BC teams ever.

I thought callendar was a good back. I’m pretty sure He averaged more than 4.5 per carry and he had good hands.

As a DB, Akins was a very good OLB. Stop. Tribble was good for the shit we put out then, but he couldn't have played during the Johnson/Moore/Yiadom/Harris/Simmons years. Callendar had more talent than the entire DBs put together. Teams destroyed that secondary, that year and for years to come. The secondary was responsble for the FSU debacle in 2007. Just terrible. BC had more secondary talent from 2015-2019 than the rest of its football history combined.

TOB sucks. I can blame him for everything.

For the record, Akins was not a CB by the time he went to the combine. He was a third down blitzing OLB. He played CB/S early on, very poorly. Jags et al moved him to LB. The corner opposite Tribble on the 2007 team was not good either, but it wasn't Akins. Nevemind, Taji Morris and DeLeon Gause as a true frosh.

Daz’s secondary with TOBy’s front 7 would have been insane.
